Republicans immediately go to caucus.
That should be some show! Loud beating of drum on the galley, but many rowers just sitting and staring in disbelief.

Over a dozen editorials and many veteran reporters see the truth behind SB1229.
Today we find out how strong the alleged ==corrupt bargain== really is.

Only 5 Dems on Museum committee to vote. Advanced 6-2.
One Republican dared to vote to advance?!!!?

I have been repeating this about TeamBungle, and editorial rooms are infected too.

“epistemic closure”
aka the closed information loop.

Many of the most trusted, experienced beholders see the same truth that SB1229 merits their opposition.

Greg Hinz and many others have become immune to such infections, yet they are still warning us against SB1229.
It seems this is just a bad bill for the state.

Rep. Sandack: “Amendatory vetoes are permitted.”
Except on the budget, it would seem.

I have never understood accepting an editor’s opinion as having any special weight. They are journalists who are pushing an opinion. No offense to our wonderful host. Most editorials aren’t any better than what I can get from the guy at tge water cooler.
Comment by Mason born Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 1:32 pm
Has anyone noticed how often Sandack claims people “misunderstand the question?” Look inward, Owl.
Comment by Politix Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 2:19 pm
if the worthless gov going to cut ,then have him cut all upper management in springfield first there the higher paid people, but wait he cant do that cause you can cut the rich to save paytaxers money or make his people suffer. he promise them so much. come one what wrong with this state. the higher paying jobs can suffer bebore the middle class should. so what if there wifes cant get there nails done this week they will live
Comment by Anonymous Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 2:21 pm
Sandack is an attorney who has never spent a day in the courtroom. Is he trying to compensate for that by acting as chief cross examiner of everyone on the House floor? Calm down.
Comment by Politix Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 2:24 pm
Someone from the governor’s office really got to Sandeck … it is so obvious during the veto over ride debates
Comment by Puppeteer Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 2:24 pm
Certainly hope Ken Dunkin and family are well.
[OTOH the terrible cynic in me remembers him enjoying dealing with Blago on the side.]
OK Rich — I should subscribe.

They say that 7 veto overrides have failed, but there’s little or no information about which bills they were attempting to override. Is there a list somewhere?
Comment by Nickname#2 Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 2:51 pm
@Mason born - that’s fair. Some media seems more neutral and credible than others, but that’s my take. Either way, news media in general has suffered lately.
Comment by Formerly Known As... Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 3:03 pm
Can we just get to 1229 already?!!

I think Madigan found a rabbit in his hat (#71).

++Speaker Madigan was briefly on floor for debate, but has since left.++ Why would the Speaker leave?
Comment by Mama Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 5:21 pm
Why are the Republicans against a No- strike bill? It makes no sense that they anyone would be against SB1229.
Comment by Mama Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 5:54 pm
“arbitrator to tell legislators they need to cut programs or raise taxes” This is not what an arbitrator does.
Comment by Mama Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 6:16 pm
Breen really is a waste of time, asking about irrelevant points, reading an editorial verbatim, implying corruption of a member, then claiming that legislators don’t represent taxpayers. Summarized with Blago reference and nonsensical talking points. Breen should get a radio program.

If Ken Dunkin ends up with a sweet high paying gig after his non election, it will be real clear where that came from. #because of Rauner.
Comment by Flynn's mom Wednesday, Sep 2, 15 @ 6:50 pm
Governor Rauner congratulations on your win. Can we please begin to negotiate the budget now? Our numbers are not that far apart.
