No more working ‘night and day’?
Comment by zatoichi Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 2:57 pm
This is inexcusable. They should be forced to at least pretend they are trying.

Well… the last line does provide some cover.

Maybe Bruce Rauner can use the time to go on the house floor to practice twisting arms.

Sweet. Any tennis tournaments that we could attend in the meantime?

=No more working ‘night and day’?=
That was Quinn’s quote. Somebody has a time share which needs to be occupied.

“Great. Just great. Here I thought I could quietly crash and finally burn the state down unimpeded thru the December holidays…” - Fake Gov. Rauner

“Hey Lance, get Grass Bowl, we need a bulletin like the speaker puts out, where is our bulletin? Put at the top Turnin’ the state around.” -Fake Governor

Look at that subtle coloring. The tasteful thickness. Oh my God, it even has a watermark.
Comment by nixit71 Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 3:42 pm
1 day a month. Nice work if you can get it.

To have more sessions would be to operate in the extreme. We in the House operate in the moderate.

Pretty much the Speaker is willing to wait for January then?

Is that union printed?
Comment by ? Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 3:56 pm
The lack of progress stopped being funny shortly after the state of the state. Political nihilism must be what is uniting the state. The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!
Comment by AC Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 4:00 pm
I imagine if Rauner were to drop his anti-union, pro-business agenda and said he was ready to start working on the budget, that could speed things up.

Someone’s not a national league baseball fan…that would be Game 3 of the NLCS.

==Is that union printed?==
Has to be. They also believe that we should pay people large sums of money to take as long as humanly possible to do a job.

S*!@% on a shingle.
Comment by JS Mill Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 4:37 pm
Rep. Dunkin announced that if the price is right, he definitely can be somewhere else doing something very important on those days.
Comment by Wordslinger Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 4:56 pm
It depends if Rauner likes those days.
If not, he’ll let Dunkin know.
Comment by Macbeth Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:00 pm
Losing heart, at long last.
This isn’t the government we deserve.
Anybody want to hike the Appalachian Trail?
Comment by walker Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:03 pm
Sure does look like Madigan is feeling the pressure.
Comment by efudd Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:03 pm
Cue Madigan covering the Stones-
Tiiiiiiiime is on my side, yes it is.
Comment by efudd Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:04 pm
Cannot even imagine this as part of a super-secret, ever-clever Madiganian plan. I’m out.
Comment by walker Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:05 pm
Rauner realizes — finally — that he has no use for his current crop of GOP’rs.
All he needs is Dunkin. The logistics got really, really easy all of a sudden.
Comment by Macbeth Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:05 pm
In other news today, Illinois State government decided to phone in their budget sometime later this year if time allows.
Comment by Slippin' Jimmy Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:09 pm
We’ll wait…No point in scheduling more until some drastic event ends the standoff.

Prediction: no budget until after Jan 1.

“Hi Rich-
Governor Rauner is meeting and talking with legislators all the time.
All the time.
Thanks!
ck”
Comment by Oswego Willy Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:17 pm
No point in scheduling sessions when 20% of the legislators won’t show up.
Comment by Thoughts Matter Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 5:54 pm
This signifies and announces that Rauner (I would call him Governor if in any way the man started to Govern) and his “Grass Bowl” staff are now on the “Hell Bound Train” (Savoy Brown) and Conductors Madigan/Culleron are not going to lend a hand! Would be a good musical Friday end Rich.
Comment by XDNR Thursday, Sep 24, 15 @ 8:02 pm
It’s urgent. So urgent.
