A good ad for a bad politician.

Agree with VM. The ad is a strong pass. The person running it has a whole heap of baggage.

Fascinating dynamic. Her running her ad against Kim Foxx shows you what their polling is saying. Good ad, but it will help with Kim Foxx’s name ID.
This is going on while Donna More is running ads attacking Anita. Kim will have enough money to get on the air and hammer home on Anita’s negatives. I still think it’s Kim’s race to lose.

Interesting graphics, with the tearing away of old billboard signage. Not sure it really works best against a new-comer candidate. Would be brilliant against an old pol who changed positions.
Solid ad on the content. Not sure its enough to make a dent in Alvarez’ negatives.

All she is doing is boosting Foxx’s name id. Not sure if Alvarez has the money to go both on the attack while shoring up her big time negatives.
Should be a fun race to watch down the stretch.

The poll says Alvarez has 34% of the vote. She needs to bring it up a little, but I don’t think Alvarez needs to shore up her negatives as much as she needs to push enough potential Foxx voters to More.
This is a good ad for that, both because she is defining Foxx while Foxx’s name ID is soft, and because it dovetails with Alvarez’s “I’m a prosecutor, not a politician” narrative.

Frankie, at this point, Alvarez is seriously outraising Foxx, so she will have the money to do her positive spots and go negative against Foxx.

deeply negative, especially with the use of the tear away. sure any pr gives name recognition, but Alvarez has to firmly plant the negatives that Foxx definitely has. B+

Foxx has a noticeable and ongoing door to door campaign on the NW side of Chi.

Not just the northside. I have friends in the Cook County part of Elgin that said they had a Foxx flyer dropped off on their door.
Clearly the grassroots is on the side of Foxx.

Alvarez has another good ad. It emphasizes her experience and record, including prosecuting police corruption.
Donna More is a Rauner voter and contributor.
Foxx has the McDonald case, but little to show regarding her own record.
Alvarez response to the McDonald case includes claims that mechanisms are now in place to keep the public informed on the status of cases involving police shootings.
It beats hiring a special prosecutor for every single case as Foxx has proposed.

A solid hit piece that reinforces doubts about Foxx’s prosecutorial experience as raised in the Sun-Times.

It is a well done ad but we will see if these hits stick on Foxx. As we saw last night in New Hampshire, the electorate does not care about experience they want fundamental change.
