Not a bad response, though I would have lowered it after referencing it. Otherwise she’s just feeding the other side.

I’m really starting to like Ms. Hotle. The Democratic Party of Illinois’ chosen candidate here will probably win, but this was an entirely avoidable and unnecessary situation. At the end of the day, I bet the speaker could have leaned on her to roll back the redistricting position.

So she lives in a 1 bedroom apartment? Does she have a real job? Is it her first job? How much of a promotion will this be? Cool to be out of college running for office but real life teaches people a lot more than a degree. This foray into politics is a good lesson.

I asked this friday about another race just before the blog was shut down for the weekend. So, I’ll ask again today:
No snark meant here. Is Andrade’s opponent a Rauner plant? Besides McCann’s opponent, who are the challengers that are getting support by Rauner or one of the PAC’s he controls? TIA!

=but real life teaches people a lot more than a degree.=
Yes, while earning a degree most people are living on an alternate plane of existence and not living a “real life”. Excellent synopsis. /snark

Ironically the Hotle-smear campaign has breathed oxygen into her campaign in NW Illinois. But what’s really surprising is that no women legislators have come to Hotle’s defense? Where are the Democratic women who are always recruiting women to run for public office on this one? The silence is deafening. Schakowsky? Bustos? Duckworth? Zopp? Currie? Lisa Madigan? Where are you?

Look, why take a chance? At least, that’s the way I feel about it.

LOL
The guy is to the left of Will Guzzardi, so… no.

Guys when Rauner wants to support a candidate he’s not quiet about it. Some dork from Chicago Votes is not a Rauner plant.
I don’t know him or anything, but Andrade’s mail is flatly false with made-up citations and I’m voting for Patel because of it.

Hotle is a community relations director for a major QC-area business with a resume deep in community relations … She is the only candidate in the 72nd who’s actually been elected to anything (She’s on the Rock Island City Council).

Hotle has painted herself as a victim time and time again. She openly attacks the speaker, her entire platform is ripped from the pages of the turn-around agenda, and is against the arbitration bill. Of course Dem. Majority has hit her hard.
Maybe the reason all of those elected officials Downstate mentioned haven’t stepped up is that they’re too busy helping real Democratic women.

I read her platform, and it sounds like a lot of vaguery for the TA. She’s anti-union, or at least wants unfair contract terms to be imposed. Whether she’s a Rauner plant or not, she’ll vote like Ken Dunkin either because she’s been planted, or wants to get funded like he did.
This is just my opinion. I think she reads like a blue dog who can’t be counted on. At least when Jack Franks’ vote is necessary, he’ll reluctantly give it.

Can you cite her “trashing” the speaker before the his mail started hitting?

I think her website “platform” is refreshingly nuanced, but mirrors darn close to the messaging you will see all downstate D’s utilize.
Can you show me where a progressive income tax is included in the Turnaround Agenda?
