Rich Miller being a novice bartender in 2016 is the most shocking news of the month.

Rich to prepare for this maybe you should spend some time in a bar and observe.

Rich, I’m tending bar at JPs tonight. Come in during happy hour (3-6) and I’ll let you practice!

===maybe you should spend some time in a bar===
Never been to one.
===Oscar’s the Celebrity===
You got that right.
I just called his groomer to make an appointment for him. She didn’t remember me, but when I told her it was for Oscar, she just melted. “Oh! Oscar! Of course!”
I was at a car show with my dad and Oscar last fall. I told him that Oscar gets recognized in Springfield more than I do. He didn’t believe me. We’re sitting next to his 63 Cadillac in lawn chairs and a woman comes up to play with Oscar, saying his name over and over and having a great time. Didn’t even talk to me. Just walked away after petting him.

Just bring a mirror the next time you are at the Club and do every thin’ in reverse….And remember long narrow bars are the worst places to hold FRs

Looking forward to seeing you at the event.

Tonight’s specialty cocktail menu:
The off the record - vodka in a coke can
The Brown - it’s a beer
The Dunkin - it’s a dirty martini, shaken and then thrown in your face
The Goldberg - just like the Dunkin, but also made with salt and hot sauce
Comment by siriusly Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 12:51 pm
Rich, here’s some advice. Just pour ‘em long and stiff, and you won’t get any complaints.
Make sure everyone takes a cab home, too.

Just remember, service with a smile.
former bartender
Comment by Wensicia Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 1:10 pm
Robert the Bruce beat me to it. Every good bartender needs a signature drink. You can have some great fun with that one!
Comment by Because I said so... Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 1:16 pm
Capfax sig drink would have to be hard hitting and memorable….. Tequila w/ hot sauce and a habanero garnish.
Comment by Ghost Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 1:21 pm
Signature Drink? How about Mad Apple-tini, in honor of your alleged service to Madigan?

This is really unlike Junior League of Springfield. They used to be cookbooks and kitchen tours. New leadership?
Comment by Sweeps Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 1:28 pm
===New leadership? ===
I have no idea. Seriously. I got contacted out of the blue and thought it might be fun.
Comment by Rich Miller Friday, Mar 18, 16 @ 1:35 pm
Wish I could make it - hope the pours are generous, like Ceres Café or a 70’s state constitution convention, and you’ll be beloved (by recipients) even more than you already are!

Perhaps, but you’ve spent hours upon hours sitting across from them while they work…..just channel that.

Never tended a bar? You should have picked it up by now through osmosis.

Raymond Chandler said that a proper martini should be shaken in 4/4 time.
