I’m thinking we should have a party, so I’m throwing it together at the last minute because, well, I just didn’t think of it sooner. Besides, I think I’m obligated to throw a party since I won the Illinois Times’ best blogger award.
So, let’s do it this Wednesday night starting around 7-ish at Two Brothers, 309 E. Monroe St., Springfield.
This invite is open to all Capitol Fax subscribers, Illinoize bloggers, Capitol Fax Blog commenters, independent Springfield-area bloggers, and just plain ol’ dedicated blog readers. It’ll be a mostly cash bar, but I’ll definitely pick up at least a few rounds and maybe some pizzas if people get the hungries.
I know it’s extremely late notice, which means I’m running the risk of nobody showing up (that’s why I chose a relatively small venue), but I’m in the mood for a party. Is anyone interested?

Rich, congratulations on a well-deserved award. But, be sure to keep your feet on the ground– I recall that, when I lived in Springfield, Illinois Times picked Pizza Hut as the best pizza in Springfield. Admittedly, Springfield has little to to offer by way of pizza…but Pizza Hut? Gross!

I’d love to meet Rich and many of the others but Springfield is more than a 2 1/2 hour drive one-way for me. Next time you are in the north or central part of the state (Bloomington to Naperville) let me know. Have a good time. Rod might surprise all of you by dropping in on the party and buying a round. He’ll probably start a tab and put the Illinois taxpayer’s name on it.

Thanks for the invite but like the governor I try not to go south of I-80. That’s probably the only thing I don’t hold against him.
But of course Southern Illinois people are fools for voting for him and falling for that act “I’m just like ya’ll”. What a hoot.

Just called the barterders at 2Brothers…told them of the unruly mob headed their way. They were prepared to shut down til I told them you crowd were rich swells who won’t notice the usual double billing.
