* “We were trying to build a ship as we were sailing it.”
That quote pretty much sums up the entire Pat Quinn administration. There’s just too much to excerpt, so click here for the full story. Sheesh.

That quote is also rather applicable to the Rauner administration

Quinn: “We were trying to build a ship as we were sailing it.”
Rauner: “We were trying to sink a ship as we were sailing it.”

Quinn: “We were trying to build a ship as we were sailing it.”
Rauner: “We were trying to sink a ship as we were sailing it.”
Neither was exactly Captain Magellan.

They were actually small sheets of white paper with scribbles on them…
And i’d take a captain who mismanages over a kamikaze pilot any day…

Perhaps it is Captain Morgan speaking on their behalf!

Unfortunately the boat they were sailing in was the Titanic.
And it looks increasingly clear that some members of the Black and Latino Caucuses who pushed for this program were the iceberg.

Quinn was a bad governor. At least he probably won’t go to prison.

Quinn’s deputies also kneecapped workplace safety & health grant programs. For those who thought Quinn’s intentional indifference to safety and health was endearing, I hope they never knew anyone was hurt in a shooting or workplace mishap.
Dan Hynes & Harold Washington were right.

Jim Thompson, Jim Edgar, George Ryan, Rod Blagojevich, Pat Quinn, Bruce Rauner; all proof that evolution can go backwards

When is Toni Irving going to be held accountable for this? She’s still working on summer jobs programs under Rahm.
And you have to wonder why this old news was leaked. I’ll assume the gov’s office leaked to start slinging mud at Arroyo, Will Davis and any other D who took advantage.

The hits keep on coming. Sheesh.
The media should ask Mr Quinn about this the next time he pops up on his image rehab tour. It might help remind him why he lost and finally send him scurrying away.

Raunerbots: You said your guy had a mandate? Well, you’re looking at it. “Don’t be Quinn.”

LOL, did you hit your head?
That old $54 million program is the top story in the Trib. Newsflash: they are part of the media.
The FY16 budget deficit is estimated at $6.1 billion.
Here’s $54,000,000
Here’s $6,100,000,000
Check out the ancient Egyptians and they’ll tell you some crazy stuff about the value of all those zeroes on the right hand side.

Still a toss-up as to who is a better governor.

Same thing when Quinn tried to close the state centers…..terrible planning…or lack of planning….

Quinn’s administration has more than this to worry about.
Look at his abysmal appointments to some Illinois State Agencies.
A “young man” who had no police experience as the top sire in the State Police.
Then we have the McEwin/Bishop fiasco’s at DCFS. McEwin “reportedly” stole millions channeling the $$ to friends and promoted not because of competency. Bishop was reported to have a series of ethical lapses which should have landed him in jail. $9,000 diverted in one incident alone. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/quinn-appoints-another-criminal-as-dcfs-director/
Another reported diversion of $300 at a mental health facility.
Then Quinn used $54,000,000 to get himself re elected, money which should have gone to reduce crime on Chicago’s west side.
Quinn has blood on his hands and deserves to be in jail.
