Maybe The Bruce will take the acronym to heart?

I know we have been over this before, but there will be a certain irony if KISS (or any other group) pulls outta Springfield, and the kids are not going back to school because of the B.I.

I’m told the “Kiss Army” travels well and some people think this could be the biggest concert of the fair. Who knows.

I hope they got paid, in cash, up front. Given the financial crisis, I would worry if a State of Illinois check was any good.

When they removed their makeup and tried to just make it on their music they bombed. That pretty much sums up KISS

I’m sure some research went into this choice so I’m not going to criticize it. Seems a little steep to me but I’m sure they put on a great show.
For anyone who loves the Fair and has not read this piece by David Foster Wallace from 1994, I highly recommend it.

Bruce (sung to the tune of Beth)
Bruce I hear you calling
For an end to the stale mate
We in this state are paying
while you just squeeze the beast
Just a few more years
And the hostages will be released
Why don’t you hear them calling
Oh Bruce what can we do?
Bruce what can we do?

The state of Illinois isn’t paying its bills, but it’s paying KISS to perform at the State Fair. I wonder if there are any ironic statements from the band’s bass player regarding such situations…
“If you can’t afford to do something — no matter how much bellyaching everybody does — I’m so sorry, if you can’t afford it, you shouldn’t do it.” – Gene Simmons, KISS
The state has operated without a budget since July 1, 2015. The band will perform Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016.

If anyone gets paid, it will be Gene Simmons. He’s probably already got the check. Sorry kids - your’re going back to the ICU.
