You’ll have a hard time finding a useable video by Prince.

Even in death, the Prince copyright machine lives on. Respect.

He was a genius in so many different ways…song-writer, singer, guitarist, discoverer and nurturer of talent. If we were to talk about him in terms of a great athlete, we’d trot out the phrase “did it for the love of the game.” He was my high school soundtrack. I accidentally turned off the radio so many times while parking on a country road Saturday night after the roller skating rink.

One of the coolest, funkiest cats ever, and he never left Minnesota.
Last Saturday, he hosted an open dance party at his estate outside Minneapolis to “Give ThanX for the Good Weather.”
$10 cover.
Just another Midwesterner throwing a kegger on the first warm Spring weekend.

I was so sad yesterday but I’m even sadder today. Listening to his friends, in particular Tamron Hall, talk about him and how he collaborated with people, and suggested things to people just makes the music he made all the more powerful. I am so thankful I was able to hear him play and that we all have his music forever. Purple rain forever baby!

“Electric word life
It means forever and that’s a mighty long time
“But I’m here to tell you
There’s something else
The after world
A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or night”
Enjoy the sun, Prince. Enjoy the sun.

Mesmerizing performance. Amazing talent. Here’s another clip that captures his ability to rise to the moment: (Prince takes over at 3:28)
