Meeks will not get another serious hearing now for about three years. Had his chance, took puffery for a promise, gave up his best leverage. Now he’s just going to have to do what Emil tells him.

The Greater Chicago Caucus sounds like a means of bringing effective political professionals together without the doctrine soaked non-sense of the tin-foil hat crowd. Bridget Dooley offers a very clear and sound invitation to Illinois voters. It will be interesting to hear how Ms. Cegelis directs the activities.

Meeks has already moved on to bigger fish, he is now Daley’s BFF.
I really hope that Meeks was not really considering a run and was using that as leverage. If not, he should go in the corner with a pointy hat for trusting Blago.

Meeks bowed down to political pressure, and now he’s paying the price. It serves him right, but it’s too bad that students in Illinois ultimately pay the price.
Speaking of a Greater Chicago Caucus…

I love hearing the Illinois Civil Justice League — a front group for Big Tobacco, Big Polluters, and Big Drug Companies complain about “the importance of eliminating ‘junk science’ and bogus and crooked expert witnesses.”
These are the same folks who told us cigarettes were safe, Global Warming is all in our heads, and that put Vioxx on the market. They invented junk science and are it’s biggest profiteers.
