Question of the day

* A bit early, but this is from the good folks at the City Club of Chicago…

It's that time of year. "Christmas with Rich Miller: @CapitolFax Comes to Chicago" 2016 Edition will be on Dec 19. https://t.co/6Lmvlt61×4

Tickets went on sale yesterday at about 3 o’clock, but believe it or not, it’s already sold out. Whew.

We always try to find ways to squeeze in more, so click here if you want to get on the waiting list.

* The Question: This year’s topic(s)?

  1. It will be a month and a half after the elections and after what I assume will be a much hoped for but little result veto session. Everyone has gone to their corners with a stopgap budget to fight out the campaigns but looking at the various races they won’t move the needle all that much. Rauner will probably be facing a supermajority in the Senate (or just barely less than that) and not a supermajority in the House but still a significant Democratic majority.

    How are the state’s five leaders going to pass anything in the latter two years of Rauner’s term when they couldn’t pass much in the first two years and the dynamic hasn’t fundamentally changed?

  4. T’was the week before Christmas…

    What does Illinois want for Christmas?

    Maybe “Money, Money, Money”

    Rauner is at 95.02% level of funding the ILGOP and Democrats with Labor money…

    … is money defining the Democrats, and is Rauner’s money rebranding the ILGOP?
