I want to be one of these “rapid response” staffers and fire off a release or memo and just start spewing nonsense.

Mark completely botched the hinged attack response and her attempt to knock him for all the comments he’s made off color. He has to be so much better and to see that coming. He also did not talk enough about the Porter thoughtful independent leadership thing. People want that and he hid it.
Don’t why he’s not doing more debates.

His closing was fantastic but I hate that he says the stroke is what changed him and made him want to work with Durbin. Kirk and Porter have been bipartisan moderates for decades. You saw in her closing where she pointed to his unhinged comments how weak her case is against him as a trump type republican is and she knows it. He got a run thru today of her attacks on him-ones shes been using for months and to not be prepared with any sort of rebuttal and to even admit in that last segment was terrible.
FWIW, these tribune forums are bar none always the most substantive I see every cycle, anywhere.

An awful thought on my part that it looked like they were trying to out-handicap each other.

You have to love that weak response from ILGOP Chairman Schneider!

Yep You can count on ILGOP to underwhelm. They should just stay out of the press release/commentary game, and focus on operations, recruitment, and funding. Let the superstars and campaign pros handle the messaging.
