* Oh, no…
Guys, I have bad news: the debate is the only thing that's woken up the Cubs bats. We're gonna need about half dozen more.

Will they accept the results of the NLCS if they lose? The Dodgers have some bad hombres.

The Cubs trail the Dodgers 2 games to 2.

=Will they accept the results of the NLCS if they lose?= Well the umps rigged games 2 and 3.

It’s rigged.

Dave Roberts tweeted at 3 a.m. that the Dodgers were honored to have won the game.

Watching both at the same time was a tough multi-task. Glad I did it though.

As long as they run the additional debates at the same time as the Cub games, I’m okay with it. Then I can feel justified in DVRing the debates and then not watching after I read all of the feedback that they were pretty much just more of the same.

Was Hillary’s earbud tuned to the cubs? That must of been why she spent her time smiling and laughing at the serious questions
Comment by Rabid Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 9:37 am
Hillary has always been a New York Yankees fan. Just ask her.
Comment by Anonymous Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 9:45 am
Such a nasty ballclub.
Comment by Rich Miller Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 9:46 am
the Cubs have not won the WS because Hillary has had 30 years and did not get them to do that.
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 9:47 am
My understanding is that the Dodgers actually won game 4. But, Putin, the Russian Bear, ordered his hackers to hijack the scoreboard at Chavez Ravine and change the score in the Cubbies favor.
Comment by G'Kar Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 9:47 am
Adrian Gonzalez did go on twitter to say it was rigged:

Made the better choice; watched the game.

I remember a different time when Hillary appeared at Wrigley Field on Opening Day of 1994 (Rookie Tuffy Rhodes hit for three home runs, but the Cubs still lost to the Mets 12-8 — Rhodes wound up playing in Japan after it became clear that he could not catch routine fly balls) to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
One of the funnier memories of the game was the airplane with an advertising banner that kept circling Wrigley Field. The banner cited the beginning of the Miranda Warning and read “HILLARY: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT.”
Thirty years later, it seems as if nothing has changed.

I know. Some Republicans still feel threatened by powerful women.
Comment by 47th Ward Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 10:01 am
Trump was a train wreck from what I saw. No one is surprised though. Glad I chose to focus on the cubs.

Is Hillary powerful in her own right or on account of her marriage?

The Cubs are about to delete something greater than 33,000 subpoenaed emails… a century plus of history. They won’t have to lie about how they did it either!
Comment by Big Muddy Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 10:07 am
@Anonymous 10:06, dial back to HRC in 1969 and her commencement speech on the national news, and the 1970s with a presidential appointment running the Legal Services Commission, and chairing the ABA section on women, and election to the US Senate and Sec of State….jeez…..
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 10:09 am
I love the Cubs, but I can’t justify THAT price for the country.

Hopefully tonight’s Al Smith dinner is close enough to a debate for another Cubs W.

Just saw the whiny tweet from Gonzalez. It’s not clear at all that his hand was touching home plate from his picture and wasn’t clear to me from TV replays either. Looked like his hand may be hovering over plate but not touching it when Contreras made tag. Thus no reason to overturn.
Comment by hisgirlfriday Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 10:26 am
@Amalia and 47th Ward:
Hey, whatever…
What I was referring to was the fact that HRC was under investigation in 1994 (either Travelgate or the Filegate scandals). Some things never change.
According to Clinton, Inc., President Clinton arranged HRC’s slating for the US Senate. Nepotism has never impressed me, but I must admit that it is an accepted norm in Illinois politics (Daley, Hynes, Madigan, McAuliffe, Stratton, Daniels, et al.).

And let me tell you something, people. when Southside sends it’s goats, it’s not sending nice goats. These goats eat flowers, disrupt traffic and curse Northsiders. Some, I assume, are also nice goats.

“… woken up Cubs bats…” Yuck! How about “awakened Cubs bats”? What passes for correct written grammar and word usage, especially from journalists, these days is very sad to me.

It is a best of three series now. For all of the small businesses, the bar tenders, the waiters and waitresses, the pizza delivery drivers, I hope that this keeps going.
While I would not predict the outcome of the NLCS yet, Cleveland will have six days in which to rest up for the World Series.
A “Rust Belt Series” between the Windy City (Chicago) and the Forest City (Cleveland) would be novel as both the Cubs and Indians have the longest streaks without a World Series title in their respective leagues. Chicago (N) 1908; Cleveland (A) 1948.
Comment by "W" flag Thursday, Oct 20, 16 @ 11:19 am
The 1948 Indians were Bill Veeck’s team and Lou Boudreau was the player/manager.
Veeck and Boudreau both had strong ties to Chicago baseball and Boudreau was on an Illini National Champion Basketball team also.
