* This e-mail was sent yesterday by Comptroller Munger’s campaign and forwarded to me by a close friend…
If you click the link, however, you’ll see the Dispatch-Argus story is from last year - Oct. 16, 2015.
Odd.
As we’ve already discussed, after that e-mail went out Munger reported receiving a million dollars from Gov. Rauner’s personal checking account.
* Here’s the Sun-Times story on the contribution…
Gov. Bruce Rauner gave a Halloween treat to state Comptroller Leslie Munger, sweetening her campaign coffers to the tune of $1 million.
The governor and his wife, Diana, made the campaign contribution to Munger on Monday, bringing the total Rauner has personally given to Republican funds, including his own, in the past month to $15,010,800.
Munger received an additional $1 million from the governor’s Citizens for Rauner political fund last month. And she took in $5 million from hedge fund manager Ken Griffin and $2 million from packaging magnate Richard Uihlein since late September.
Nice lede.

That “guacamole” isn’t fresh… sorry, email… The email isn’t fresh.
Labor,
Leslie Munger’s hometown is the ONLY one pushing Right to Work, and Leslie Munger… is fine with it.
Know your friends.

What did Leslie say? Something about being 1.4% wingman? I always thought that the wingman only sought separation after the intended hook up was made.

I’m tired of witnessing politics where the campaigners have less backbone than a McRib sandwich. Munger, Kirk, Duckworth and Dold give backstabbing and waffling a bad name.
Bad mouthing the guy giving you millions of dollars so you can keep an elected position with a four year term limit is sickening.

“I don’t think it helps to pit people against one another, to be completely honest.”
A candidate who wanted to be completely honest would never have sent this deliberately deceptive email.

How many people on Candidate Munger’s campaign email list will be persuaded by a message seeking to distance the candidate from the Governor?

So Rauner wasn’t the architect of Munger busting the caps, washing all those millions and then dishing them out to other campaign funds.
That was her idea? How’d she get them all to go along?

Keep that avocado fresh. Munger is toast. #hipsterbreakfast

Reforming the State through misinformation. What a concept.
It’s a proxy war. Embrace it. Sell what is positive on through Governor’s approach.

Didn’t Bruce just drop a cool million in her campaign fund?

You guys could really use a little comfort food. Or maybe something with a little more oomph. The Cubs won the WS. Anything is possible.

Looks like Bruce just purchased the extended warranty on “Best Buy” Leslie

Guy, you’re typing random words that don’t convey a coherent thought.
Yet you still hit “send.”

Sling, do you read the entire CF or just focus on your entries and how clever they are? Rep. Bourne was the victim of some foul communication today that meets a higher threshold than the mush of what we’re discussing here. I was offering my perspective.
I read your comments about the washed money and blown caps and the rest of your blather that would be relevant if you had any sense of even-handedness with the filthy and rewashed money on the other side. But you don’t.
You’re just above it all Sling. I get it. It’s a testament to Mssr. Miller that anyone with an opposing view even bothers to come here, let alone participate in the discussion. Although you consciously or unconsciously do everything you can to discourage that. I’m interested in your thoughts, but not any level of validation.
As the movie line goes. “I’m just not that into you”.
Comment by A guy Thursday, Nov 3, 16 @ 2:58 pm
Guy, I don’t understand what your incoherence has to do with Rep. Bourne’s situation, but you certainly are quick to appropriate it for yourself, somehow.

Gee, that sounds terrible. “Filthy” money.
In the spirit of even-handedness, please point out the handful of contributors and their millions that Mendoza is washing through her committee to funnel to other campaigns.
When you can’t, please understand that “even-handedness” doesn’t mean claiming “both do it” when only one does.

Rauner seems to tolerate a certain amount of what appears to be heresy from Raunerbots…e.g., remarks about how great state workers are, how we need to take care of our most vulnerable, references to hard-working families, etc. Rauner knows they have to talk the talk. What he cares about is how they vote. And Rauner is happy with how they vote. (Special attention: Butler, Bourne & Jimenez)
Comment by Stumpy's bunker Thursday, Nov 3, 16 @ 4:48 pm
Egads, heresy from Rauner’s wingman! Gosh, she must be her “own person”! however, Rauner knows that Raunerbots have to pander, and will tolerate a certain amount of heresy. Thus, you have Butler, Bourne and Jimenez making references to hard-working families, the most vulnerable among us, and the great work that state workers do.
Then vote against their interests.
Rauner will give Raunerbots room to peddle their self-serving snake oil, but how they vote is what he cares about.

Oh, man. Maybe she doesn’t realize that when you say something in one part of the state, it gets around to the rest of it. It’s called…the Internet. #MungerFail
