But the Illiana concept clearly has enough merit that Weller is correct to pursue the possibilities, to plan and to seek federal money. Major highways such as this one do not reach fruition unless their routes are protected and unless their advocates lobby heavily on their behalf. Weller deserves credit and support for doing that.

Sure we like Paul and his collection of articles. And there’s a lot to say here. Hmm I’m intrigued by the renovations at The Cell.

Paul is doing a great job but commenters are probably afraid of the feds and don’t want to comment on you know who! I sure would like to see him fired though.

Paul,
You’re doing a great job ! Staying on top of the daily clips can’t be easy.
And good QOTD. Ideas for future QOTDS include:
1) If IL were to choose a new state song, what would it be ?
2) Identify who would serve on the “dream team” of statewide constitutional officers now and who in recent history (i.e. over the past 30 years).
3) Springfield, IL has been invited to submit a 30-minute video to compete for the premiere of the Simpsons movie in July. (The SJ-R had a good article on it on 3/10.) Lets help. What/who/where should be in the video ? Ideas for directors ? Volunteers for helping the video ? Any CapFaxers have film production expereience and want to help with pre- or post-production ?
Again, Paul, keep up the good work. You read the papers so we don’t have to !

Talk about clout jobs I think the issue is more lack of education and or experience in filling vacant positions within this administration. A recent job posting at IDOT, Bureau of Business Services, for a TM VI position which normally requires a college education required no educational requirements and only 3 years experience. The reason for this lack of qualifications is because after IDOT conducts all the interviews, the position will be filled by a woman who has a GED and only a couple of years of experience. Let me tell you, everyone at IDOT is laughing. If you applied for this position, forget it, the woman already has the job and the big money with the promotion.
