Sen. David Koehler, D-Peoria, on Wednesday removed his name as a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 1592, which would reinstate an electric rate freeze for at least a year. “I can’t support the freeze right now because a freeze really doesn’t give anybody relief,” said Koehler, a first-year senator.

You are ‘much more than mediocre’ and you don’t sweat much for a fat girl!

“…The rise in applications to charter schools “is a sad commentary on our existing public schools,” said State Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago), who has filed legislation to stop the proliferation of charter schools..”
That’s a sad comment on Monique, to subordinate the demand for a better education to another timewasting study of the Public School system.
There goes another generation down the drain. And this includes the parents who thought they were getting a way out and up for their kids.
That should be a matter of shame to Monique. That is why we do not have true school reform in Illinois.

Using the term “mediocre” in conjunction with Patrick Fitzgerald is tantamount to saying Sister Teresa “always meant well”.
If Patrick Fitzgerald had not been assigned to the state of Illinois, many of us would have lost our sanity and our only source of “hope” years ago. Here is hoping that Illinois is sent a legion of other “mediocre” federal attorneys by President Bush in order to save our sorry souls from the crooked politicians that we have allowed to get elected. I wonder what adjective they would have used to describe our former governor, George Ryan? Fair to middling? These guys in Washington have to be the masters of “the understatement”. Incidentally, we ought to have a pool going as to whether Ryan will ever see the inside of a federal prison before he dies of old age. My bet is that The Grim Reaper will be the eventual winner.

‘ many of us would have lost our sanity and our only source of “hope†years ago. ‘
Lord Have Mercy! The smelling salts, Stella, quickly! Blanche is losing what sanity she has left! Oh, where is Pat Fitzgerald? Curse, you Combine! I am a twizzle myself!

Bet the poor Kid is looking for work - Jaeneke’s Hot Dogs and Root Beer probably pays better than Silas Miller; not to mention the digitally challenged ejeits like me posting in between awaited missives from Major donors - Oh gotta go!

I believe the headline regarding political hiring is incorrect.
“City will pay for clout hiring”
“$12 million fund set up for victims”
Shouldn’t it read:
Chicago taxpayers will pay $12 million for clout hiring.
How the Daley administration manages to spin these developments into some type of positive policy changes is amazing to me. The boys think the heat is off and they are setting the table getting ready for the new feast to be served.
Dig in.
