* ILGOP…
Illinois lawmakers led by House Speaker Mike Madigan have barely worked during the special session – convening for only 122 minutes and sometimes not even showing up.
While Mike Madigan stalls, Illinois crumbles. Financial institutions are threatening junk status.
Madigan needs to get serious before his caucus of junk politicians fails to send the Governor a balanced budget for the second year in a row.
Today, the Illinois Republican Party is releasing a digital video highlighting the legislature’s inability to get to work.
Time is running out.
* The ad is based on an Illinois Policy Institute report and uses TV coverage of the special session…
* Meanwhile, as I told subscribers this morning, this is one of the five Illinois Republican Party mailers that have been sent into Democratic Rep. Jerry Costello’s district in the past seven days…
Notice anything missing from the Rauner plan? A way to pay for it, perhaps?

When will both parties figure out that while they take time to play politics back and forth, the good people of the state suffer in ways they should not as a society. Schools in jeopardy - children in the crossfire; universities closing - draining current and future home-grown brain power; social service agencies closing - aging and the poor at the greatest risk. No one cares who’s fault it is… DO YOUR JOBS.

IPI called, they want their cite and the writing credit too.
Man, the ILGOP is lazy.
Rauner can get his budget… It’s “simple” as @StatehouseChick loves to say…
Raunerite revenue bill, Raunerite sponsors, 30 HGOP votes.
“Why won’t they?”, lol

Meanwhile the Governor hasn’t even sat down and talked with the legislative leaders during the special session and the GOP revenue plan has yet to make an appearance. Yep, the Democrats fault.

It’s not funny anymore. It’s not a game anymore. Hasn’t been a game for some time now. I am not sure how the “powers that be” can keep a straight face anymore. Not sure how they sleep at night.
Here is a message for the Governor. You lost sir. You didn’t know how to wield political power, and you lost. Deal with it, but please don’t destroy the state just so that you don’t have to admit you failed.
Mr. Speaker: You are the smartest, most patient, political operator in Illinois. However your unwillingness to put the state before the party and political power is hurting the state. At a time when Illinois needed you to be bigger than our dogmatic Governor, you failed. That is a shame.
To the Voters: Seriously consider if your state rep or senator shows any independence from leadership ever. If they do not, consider voting for someone else. This inability of the mushrooms to EVER revolt in a way that effects outcomes under the dome is a testament to the lack of courage that exists in that building.

Must be nice to be living in an alternative universe with all those Rauner Bucks. These ads are not helpful. Just get a grip and hold your gripes and fire until we get out of this mess. There have been substantial bipartisan votes in the last few days on both reform bills and other needed bills to keep our State held together. So, just STOP IT! You’ll have plenty of time to spend Rauner’s money and bash the Dems for the next election later. If the leaders can keep mum after a leader’s meeting so can the ILGOP spinners.

Proof point #3842 that the governor doesn’t want a budget: You can’t push mailers like that out after signing a tax hike.
well, he probably can. the truth doesn’t seem to hold him back.)

More evidence Governor Junk doesn’t want a budget.
Comment by Because I Said So.... Thursday, Jun 29, 17 @ 11:58 am
The idea…
… Rauner will sign, arguably, one of the largest tax increases in state history… and these mailers ignore that absolute fact…
1) Rauner won’t sign or agree to sign a tax increase that is required, thus blowing everything up.
2) Rauner will sign a “Democrat” tax bill, to pay for Rauner’s budget, and hope beyond hope that Dems will all be green, and the lone “4″ Raunerites in the House will be voting for higher taxes, so Rauner will spend millions against the Dems that voted to pay for his budget.
Are these two Raunerite options look like someone sending mailings and producing videos in hopes to get a real budget…
…
… with compromise?

Why would Team Rauner choose term “junk politicians” while the “Governor Junk” ads are in production.
You don’t let your enemies pick the battlefield, goofballs.
Unless your enemy is Pat Quinn and his communications director thinks a debate over Quinn’s plan to raise taxes is a good idea.

Is it too late to introduce a revenue bill that taxes ridiculous mailers? We could balance the budget and build a surplus
Comment by SOIL M Thursday, Jun 29, 17 @ 1:22 pm
I really dislike these attacks at one of the most critical times in state history. In this environment, House Democrats should stick to their guns and not give too much to those who want to wipe them out.
Comment by Grandson of Man Thursday, Jun 29, 17 @ 1:22 pm
Sue-
Yup. Just two of many reasons:
1) JB admits he is campaigning.
2) JB admits that new revenue is needed.

Everyone calm down.
Can’t you see, he has his carhart on, which means he is PERSONALLY swing a hammer and rebuild Illinois……..He simply forgot to mention he is going to burn it down first.

Um, yes. Pritzker is a candidate running for elected office. Rauner is the governor who should be doing everything in his power to get the state a budget. Worlds of difference. But your partisan glasses are probably opaque.

==And these are any different then the ad nauseum garbage Pritzker has been sending out?==
Pritzker isn’t the Governor and isn’t trying to negotiate a budget right now. So, yeah, it’s different.

All that does is remind me of the WSJs “Gov. Junk” tag.
Was that the intention?
