Please Illinois Advocacy Group, shut up. Do you read the dribble that is on every post?

We can all give thanks that Governor Christie kept his shirt on.

I honestly do not know how I could have considered myself an informed voter before Twitter and Facebook.
Rep. Welch’ s tweet has really changed my opinion on the tax increase.

It does not matter how they parse their words.
This is a huge tax increase on the working man and woman.
This is a huge tax increase with no limits on government spending.
This is a huge tax increase on the poor.
This will not help.
The time is long past for the leaders to get things done right.
This is more goofy spending and taxation.
Illinois is bankrupt with bankrupt ideas.

“Illinois is bankrupt with bankrupt ideas.”
Then show us the way out of this fiscal crisis, with numbers and estimates. As wordslinger says, don’t hide your light under a bushel.

The average salary in the state of Illinois is around $60,000 per year (http://www.deptofnumbers.com/income/illinois/)
1.2% x $60,000 = $720
$720 / 12 = $60
That’s it. $60 a month. It is an increase, but is it worth it to keep Illinois from tanking? You decide if you can part with $60. I won’t make that judgement for you. But answer the question honestly. Is $60 a month worth it and is it a better alternative than what awaits us if we don’t do this today?
(BTW, I did not include any deductions or “taxable income”.)

Also, with the expansion of the EITC, the impact on low- income families will be mitigated.
