* Silly season is officially upon us, campers. Watch ‘em eat it up…
.@KennedyforIL to @JBPritzker - DROP OUT! "If he believed in public service & sacrifice, he would sacrifice his own political career in service to the Democratic Party of IL & frankly to the people of Illinois by dropping out of the race." #ILGov @wlsam890 pic.twitter.com/LiSZRz224Z

* Biss campaign…
Today, the Biss campaign issued the following statement in response to Chris Kennedy’s hypocritical call for JB Pritzker to drop out of the Democratic governor primary.
“Chris Kennedy doesn’t have a leg to stand on,” said Biss campaign spokesman Tom Elliott. “If the concern about JB Pritzker is that he’s hiding his offshore accounts, his income and his taxes from voters, then shouldn’t Chris Kennedy also drop out of the race?
“Chris Kennedy and JB Pritzker are two sides of the same gold coin: they refuse to release their full tax returns, while standing on a record of tax scams and tax avoidance. And now they have the audacity to ask voters to trust them with the future of Illinois. These guys think they get to play by a different set of rules, but I believe the voters will give them a rude awakening on Tuesday.”
Maybe Kass was right? /s
* Pritzker campaign…
After doubling down on his position on taxing retirement income, Chris Kennedy is flailing through the final days of his campaign, attacking JB’s family, lying about his own positions, and throwing anything at the wall in a desperate attempt to get something to stick. It’s no surprise that Kennedy is trying to get the only candidate who can beat Bruce Rauner to drop out. Kennedy did praise him after all.
Ouch.

===Kennedy says Pritzker should drop out, Biss says Kennedy should also drop out===
The Tio Hardiman campaign released a statement saying Pritzker, Kennedy and Biss should all drop out.
A spokesman for Bob Marshall was travelling out of state and couldn’t be reached for comment.
By all appearances, Madison County’s Bob Daiber dropped out of the race some time ago.
Silly season indeed.

I was debating whether I was going to hold my nose and vote in this race but now I think none of them get my vote.

funny thing was, Bob Marshall’s spokesman was only in Pontiac - it just said South Illinois on his map.

Yeah, the frontrunner should drop out. Stoo-pid.

Pritzker missed a real opportunity here to complete the circle by calling on Biss to drop out.

Which state was he out of?
I think Kennedy’s statement proves that he’s now solidly on board for recreational weed.

The perpetual campaign, that is now more than one year old makes everyone want to throw up. Maybe Pat Quinn should have run in this race.

Anonymous @ 2:06 pm, it is never smart to not exercise your rights to vote. If you do not vote, you cannot complain when the wrong person wins.

But wait, I thought Kennedy was running a “positive” campaign? He must have been misquoted.

Reminds me of that old tune with the refrain “Let’s call the whole thing off.”
When you get to this level of over the top, you’ve reached peak silliness. Time-out for laughter, pls.

I’m guessing there will be no Tuesday night phone call from the Kennedy camp congratulating JB on the win. or the media press event saying I will support fully the winner of the primary and work hard to get them elected in the upcoming November election?.
Comment by DuPage Bard Thursday, Mar 15, 18 @ 2:23 pm
I’d like to drop out and I’m not even running.
Comment by Streator Curmudgeon Thursday, Mar 15, 18 @ 2:24 pm
All 3 could drop out and Cheri Bustos or Susana Mendoza could take their place?
I think most Dems would find this suitable.

For anyone who thinks Kennedy can put together a consistent campaign that can win in the general this is a good example of his goofy behavior. He and Quinn are twin sons of different mothers (with apologies to Fogelberg and Weisberg)

Or, tongue was firmly in cheek and he has a sense of humor.
He sure did wind up both Biss and Pritzker. Nerves are quite on edge.

A little too late to establish this narrative, especially for the anti-establishment candidate.

Whoever the dem candidate is. Kennedy. Pritzker or biss
Any one of those wil beat rauner
People should not vote for Pritzker just because of the money
Comment by Anonymous Thursday, Mar 15, 18 @ 2:54 pm
Thing is, Biss is right here, though.
Pritzker and Kennedy both decided that whatever’s in their tax returns is potentially disqualifying, so they didn’t release them.
Pritzker got caught in at least some shenanigans.
Kennedy is still not releasing his info, perhaps hoping that no one will find whatever he’s worried about before Tuesday.
It’s a little ridiculous for Kennedy to be trying to take the moral high ground…if this is his standard, shouldn’t he follow it himself?

I suspect that they just noticed that no one else is paying a penalty for not releasing their taxes anymore, so why bother?

Biss and Kennedy should drop out after falling for that fake Tribune story on Pritzker. We certainly don’t need a Governor so gullible to fall for a fake news story.

The fact that JB has spent millions to not break 39% should fill you with confidence.

This all seems like politics as usual. Blame your opponent for everything including the sinking of the Titanic, while you claim to hold the moral high ground. Let us be clear there is no moral high ground in politics None of them hold it, and none of them ever will. Folks pick the person who you think will do the least amount of damage, and cast your vote None of these people deserve to win, but it is, what it is.
