* Umm…
Senator Durbin says he asked Speaker Madigan to “take a different approach” in selecting a new executive director of the Democratic Party of IL. Says he suggested putting together a panel of females to lead the search pic.twitter.com/4zYaBGgJ0g

DURBIN ON MADIGAN: we're going to find out what happens from this time forward. I asked him to make a significant move to show that he gets it. So I'm going to stand by to see how this progresses.

* Greg Hinz the other day…
The Pritzker campaign isn’t commenting on Madigan’s move, but all indications are that there was some communication between the speaker and the nominee before Stratton was named chair. What that says about the eventual selection of an executive director remains to be seen, but Pritzker is going to have some explaining to do if the person is seen as a Madigan flunky.
Greg heard the same things I did.

The let’s “see how this progresses” line from Durbin is interesting. If Madigan is maneuvered out of the party chairmanship, it’s gonna require Durbin, Pritzker and labor all pulling from the same end of the rope.

So Durbin and Pritzker both gave Madigan similar advice, is that the story? Or is it Durbin claiming credit for something Pritzker, by not commenting, was also claiming credit?
I don’t care who gave Madigan the idea, naming an all-female group to lead this process was a good idea. Success has many fathers, and if MJM screws this up again, he’ll be an orphan pretty soon.

Maybe mltiple people pushing him on this? I mean it’s not exactly rocket science to give women an over sized voice in selecting the replacement for a leader who harassed women and ignored or down played other people’s harassment. Could also be a power play by JB, we’ll see.

Durbin keeping Madigan on the straight and narrow as Prytzker supervises… Sounds like an incredible set up to a hilarious joke.

Looks to me like everyone chipping away, while giving Madigan a chance to hold on to something.
Which is fine. A multi-polar Democratic Party is preferable.

Should have tried to push him out after the primary, when you had your chance.
This sounds like double-secret probation.

A “panel of females”…? Uh…there is a word for female humans…It’s “women.” Would be the appropriate word to use.

So Interesting that Stratton can somehow be viewed as an independent and objective voice in any of this. Let’s not forget, she was handpicked to run for state rep by Marty Quinn who also hand picked Alaina Hampton to run her campaign. Diidnt Quinn and Madigan direct and funnel millions of dollars to her campaign account? Didn’t her running mate just pay Madigan $1 mil? Must we turn a blind eye and pretend Stratton’s loyalties aren’t to Madigan? I’m never surprised but often confused by politics in this state.

- Never Surprised -
You prefer Ken Dunkin over Juliana Stratton?
That was the choice that election.

It’s interesting to me that they can ask for panel with only women. What do you suppose would happen if they publicly said they wanted a panel of only men? Just sayin…..

You conveniently skipped over a ton of history. By your simplistic logic, Alaina Hampton is still a Madigoon.

Who would want this job?

Not only does Durbin have panels of females I bet he has binders full too

That’s basically what they HAVE said for decades (and centuries).

===Though qualified, Stratton is undoubtedly tied to Madigan for all the reasons you mentioned and more.==
Does more include defeating Ken Dunkin?
That was the choice that election.
