  1. What, no thread about the makeup? It was the all the talk during the weekend.

  2. Gregor, how long have you been commenting here? You should know by now that not every story is included in Morning Shorts. We’ll be getting to that soon. Be patient, please. Thanks.

  3. Good-morning Paul, I’d like to raise some awareness to a couple of parking lot proposals a long the lakefront popping up in Rogers Park recently.

Maybe Harry Osterman and Carol Ronen can step in and help?

  4. to those who inquire how Springfield, Illinois could lose the Simpsons contest to tiny Springfield, Vermont, I can only conclude that Dr. Howard Dean and his fellow Vermonters have finally learned how to stuff a ballot box, at least the electronic ones.

  5. Rich,
Unbelievable how you continue to defend this Governor. Your column in the Southtown tends to justify bad behavior.
And you are wrong about Rod being the same person he always was. He is on his best behavior around you because he knows he’s got you suckered.
Since becoming Governor he has alienated everyone that has ever known him. He has become selfinflated jerk.

  6. Why is it that so many voters fall for politicians’ assertions that they are “reformers.” It works far more than it should.

Blago and Dominick are only two recent examples of
how easily voters are fooled by promises of government and ethics reform.

It must be something to do with the way we evolved..the optimistic (if unrealistic) caveman
killed the most for dinner, or whatever.

  7. “Lula May,” it never ceases to amaze me that anything that even slightly departs from the “Blagojevich is evil” meme so upsets the Blago haters. Take a deep breath, re-read the column and perhaps try to reflect on why you can’t accept even a minor departure from your hater orthodoxy.

  8. Rich,
I don’t hate anyone. But I also don’t defend the indefensible.
Just because someone disagrees with you. That doesn’t make them a hater. You’re right we all need to chill out.

  9. Everyone needs to be less concerned about the Simpsons and more concerned about what the people of this nation need. All we get are circuses, gladiators and magicians when what we actually need is less “politics as usual”.

  10. How to get the olympics to Chicago? Don’t hold it in the middle of a hot humid summer would be good for starters.

Comment by Little Egypt Monday, Jul 16, 07 @ 6:17 pm

  11. Obama supports nonviolence? Seems to me that he voted for the funding of this situation in Iraq.

    Support out troops–bring them home!
