Blagojevich vetoed a bill that would have reinstated a tax credit for companies that begin offering day-care services to employees.
“This bill creates a corporate tax loophole in a tight fiscal year,” Blagojevich said in a statement.
Interesting. I’m all in favor of closing loopholes. But is daycare for working mothers really a loophole ?

Since we all missed NCSL in Boston last week, you might find this article enjoyable…http://gazette.net/stories/081707/polinew23615_32363.shtml
It does raise a very interesting question, “Where do the nudists wear the pins they pass out at their exhibit booth?”

What is it with the City of Chicago and its feud against anyone – even somebody who somebody sent – wanting to do some “unsanctioned” swimming in the Lake? Los Angeles can figure out how to let people surf in the Pacific; New York City is happy to have people swim in the Atlantic. I really would think that Chicago – out of second city anxieties if nothing else – would be embarrassed at the way it discourages people from making the greatest possible use of the City’s great, natural recreational resource.
