So Lucky the Comptroller just gets to pay anything even if the GA doesn’t appropriate it? Why do we do the kapuka dance with the budget every May if the comptroller can just handle it?

I’m not protecting Dan on his role at Dep Gov. I actually agree we should not kick the can. But I don’t get where you can blame him for the pension skips of the past.

Do you recall Dan Hynes using the bully pulpit of his office ala Susana Mendoza about the irresponsible legislature and governor’s kicking the can?
Of course not, he wanted their support when he ran for the US Senate and Governor’s Office.
