* Oscar’s groomer told me last week that the little guy has an ear infection. He also has some redness on his tummy. So, he’s going to the vet. I’ll be back when I can. Meanwhile, be nice to each other and keep it Illinois-centric. Thanks.
*** UPDATE *** The vet found no ear infection, but he does have a little infection on his belly, so he’s taking some antibiotics for the next 10 days. Should be all good by then.

We may need photos of Oscar. You know, to ensure that we can track his convalescence.

In a pet with the red tummy always suspect food allergies.

poor baby. hpe they get him some meds to soothe. otherwise, for pet skin infections, the catalogue/on line Gardens Alive has some pet bites that help with skin conditions.

If someone woulda told me 2-9 and 6-5 teams would be playing in the NU-Illini game, I never woulda picked Northwestern as the 2-9 team.
Lovie making the Illini bowl eligible is a big deal.

Poor Oscar. Such a beautiful dog. It seems there are a lot of ear infections going around for pets this year. Hope he heals soon and Puppy Prayers.

The best two high school basketball players in the state are going head to head tonight in the Whitney Young vs Morgan Park game. DJ Steward who is committed to Duke and Adam Miller who recently committed to UIUC. Should be a great game if you can tune in.

Is that *your* blog you keep pushing? Ugh.
No need to respond. Thank you.
Oscar, get well. Ear infections for dogs, aw, he’s a good boy and will do great at the visit.

My dog got ear infections nearly every time he got back from the groomer.

Poll question for the commenters that are Long Time State Merit Comp employees.
Did you laugh or cry when reading Dan Hynes memo that stated that the cost of living went up 19.5% since the last increase, so to make up for it, employees were going to be given Cost of Living Adjustments that don’t even keep up with current inflation?
Sigh. It’s better than the previous administrations, but still underwhelming and disappointing. Definitely not enough to get people to accept promotions into management.

@MCE
I’m AFSCME but have always felt bad for my Merit Comp coworkers. In addition to the lack of raises, they had several furlough days forced upon them. As I said last week on another post, there’s little to no incentive for those with institutional knowledge to pursue those positions unless it’s an end-of-career salary bump. It’s no wonder we’re reading about the mismanagement in various agencies.

Good thing Oscar doesn’t have an ear infection. Pets hate ear drops. We recently had to treat an ear infection in one of our cats with antibiotic ear drops. He wasn’t on speaking terms with us for about a week. His chilly attitude finally started to thaw about two days ago.

Best Wishes to Oscar as he gets better, and to his “Dog Dad” Rich.
I thought the whole purpose of family gatherings was to argue at some point, especially alcohol-fueled gatherings.

Read the ingredients of his food and make sure “corn” isn’t one if he first few listed. It’s a very common food allergy in dogs.

Steve, struggle against the 14th amendment? You mean the amendment that protects the rights of citizens? Why?
Also what is the point of pictures of Solis with prominent politicians. I imagine he met a few. So what?
