The Democratic Party of Illinois is a vehicle for no talent cronies and grifters to reward friends, wield power and personally profit from public office.
A wide-ranging corruption probe throughout the state has already yielded indictments for two Democrat state legislators and the most powerful Chicago alderman.
The FBI is issuing warrants and subpoenas on Mike Madigan’s top political cronies; it’s just a matter of time before the machine comes to a screeching halt.

I checked and didn’t see any significant updates from the launch of the site.
Also, people who insist on talking politics during holiday dinners shouldn’t ever be invited back. It’s a time for family togetherness, not cable TV debates. Sheesh.

If i were the ILRaunerites, I’d offer free viewing of the “Madigan” documentary again.
Maybe the Dems can get to 77 in the House, 42 or so in the Senate?
Better hope no GOP folks get caught up in the red light cameras or Exelon stuff.
Watch what does happen.

Good point. Politics should be off limit on Thanksgiving. Such a truce ought to be bipartisan.
While the Republicans are being faulted today, it is worth recalling that Barack Obama’s emissaries once famously called for his supporters to hold such discussions to engage their persuadable relatives.

Meh, Governor Rauner signed the Exelon bailout. If he had any idea of what appears to have been going on, shouldn’t he have voted the bill and shouted about corruption from the mountaintops?

Agree very much. There’s no point in fighting. Why look for trouble on days that should be spent in appreciation and celebration? Nothing will get solved at the dinner table. Fighting can just make people dig in more.

I still believe the old saying “you don’t argue politics or religion in a bar”. The same goes double for Thanksgiving. It is a time to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. If you are thankful for the politics today, you should sit quietly and reflect on yourself.

Sheesh, how I hate the term “cronies.” Rauner seemed to use the aforementioned term a lot…too much, IMO. I guess that’s why I despise it so. Pot, meet kettle.
And, IL GOP, surely you’ve better things to do with your family and loved ones than discuss politics on this special day. But, hey, it’s a free country, so yap all you want.

If anyone wants to argue politics on Thanksgiving you could just give them one of those home DNA tests and hope for the best. With any luck you will be able to take them off of your Christmas list and send them to someone else’s home next year.

Meeting the partners family for the first time and given I will be asked, “and what do you do for work?” a bunch of times. Not talking politics will be unavoidable, what would people’s advice be?

Redirect all questions to better topics like the amazing book you just got (The Soul of An Octopus), an interesting historical figure (Alexander Von Humboldt as in Humboldt Park and the Humboldt Current). Especially, listen and find a good thing about them. Pie and ice cream are very helpful with all of this. Good pie, sweet peace and perfect turkey to everyone.
