Dick Lockhart’s celebration of life

Posted in:

* The celebration of life for longtime lobbyist Dick Lockhart will be held after the Third House holiday party on December 5th. Normandy Room in the Chicago Hilton and Towers, 720 S. Michigan from 1:45-5:45.

This is particularly fitting because Dick would often host a party at his place after the Third House event.

* Keith Sias sent me this pic the other day of himself, Joe Lyons and Dick at a Sox game. I thought you’d like to see it…

  2. He was simply the complete professional when it came to lobbying. In my 25 years working on the rail I never heard a bad thing said about Dick. And considering we are talking about the political world, that is saying something.

  3. Dick Lockhart set a standard that will not be easily matched in terms of his lifelong work ethic and always choosing optimism even when facing the most difficult or seemingly intractable challenges. He was a fantastic advocate for his clients and the most generous collaborator you could find. His record of service to his country and community will also not be easily matched.
Getting invited to Dick’s home to tour his collection of war and political memorabilia was both a true honor and an oral history lesson.
Good Bye Dick Lockhart. Illinois already misses you and we are well served by your memory.

  5. Dick was a great guy that took time to help a new guy
just starting out over 30 some years ago to find the mens
room at the Capitol. He will be missed, I’m sure he and my Dad are sharing some great old stories with a glass of something cold.
