Lawmakers that proposing repealing the green energy bill of 2016 are playing political games according to a central Illinois lawmaker.
The 2016 legislation essentially saved the Clinton Nuclear Power Station from closure for ten years but late last month, a pair of northern Illinois lawmakers put forth legislation that would repeal parts of the legislation. State Representative Dan Caulkins calls these political games.
According to Caulkins, these two lawmakers proposing this legislation are not very popular in their respective districts and so he believes this is a political maneuver to gain favor with their voters.
Caulkins’ message to anyone who might support this legislation is that they are going to receive serious pushback. He explains they have a social media campaign calling out the representatives pushing this legislation.
So, lemme get this straight. An Eastern Bloc member who co-sponsored legislation to kick Chicago out of Illinois is criticizing two suburban Republicans (Reps. Mark Batinick and Tom Morrison) for sponsoring a bill to take away a massive ratepayer subsidy of a Chicago-based company that’s currently under federal investigation. And he even claims to be running a Facebook ad targeting Batinick.
I dare say that if Rep. Caulkins didn’t have a nuke plant in or near his district he’d be co-sponsoring Batinick’s anti-subsidy bill.

1) A large number of state employees aren’t banned from using cannabis.
2) The Department of Agriculture’s emergency rules do, indeed, set THC limits…
Each cannabis-infused product intended for consumption must be individually packaged, must include the total milligram content of THC and CBD, and may not include more than a total of 100 milligrams of THC per package. A package may contain multiple servings of 10 milligrams of THC, and indicated by scoring, wrapping, or by other indicators designating individual serving sizes.

House Raunerites are NOT concerned about serving the state well or spreading ridiculousness.
House Raunerites ARE concerned about having seat totals closer to 45 than 40.
That’s really it.
When your caucus is broke and bereft of any ideas to increase your numbers, Raunerism and Hateful Eight ignorable that keeps a seat will be tolerated.

Annonin and Not Rich, I don’t agree with the eastern bloc on anything, but let’s dial down the namecalling. I’m originally from that area and we aren’t a bunch of barefoot hayseeds. Attack their arguments, which is easy; there’s no need to stereotype everyone from central and eastern Illinois.

Steve Rogers, I grew up in and regularly visit Clay County, too, and I’d say that Bailey is a pretty accurate reflection of the social beliefs and intellectual quality in that area.

The HRaunerites are banking on these members and their phony to work. The HRaunerites and their leader think it’s how folks think there.
Crazy, but that what they all think of folks in those districts.

I have no reason to believe you are. I believe the people who support the eastern bloc/anti vaccination nonsense are a vocal minority.
I hope some of you primary ol’ Gomer and Beetle ‘cause if anyone need primarying it’s those guys.

State police sworn and code employees are still essentially under zero tolerance. The wording changed from “shall” be disciplined up to and including discharge to “may”.
Rich- do you have any further on the state employees not being banned from use? I haven’t seen any information from CMS or AFSCME and as far as I recall if you are injured or involved in an accident on the job you’re still subject to a drug test.

Our political sphere is becoming so clouded with nonsense and misrepresentation that I can’t help but feel that truth doesn’t matter any longer, and if it does, it’s importance is eroding more each day. Both with respect to the post, and on the national stage. This is how the onset of despair feels I guess.

Chowder, I’m retired now, but there was no mandatory testing. However, if there was a suspicion on alcohol or drug use on the job, there was a process to handle it. Also with accidents. I don’t think we had any zero tolerance positions at our location. But perhaps there are updated rules. Also, the rules are likely to differ slightly for individuals, even within a workplace, depending on which Union contract an employee operates under.

No fan of the Eastern Bloc, but it is a no brainer for the local rep to defend a big employer, fairly or not.
