Which Illinois team is going to perform best at Arch Madness next week? I got Loyola winning the conference.

Rain and temps in the 60’s by Monday.
Here come the daffodils.

I watched Loyola in person against N Iowa and was impressed. If the team shows up for tourney then they are in good shape. Same for Illini. If the team that beat Penn State keeps showing up they can make some noise

It would be great if The Valley can get two teams in. There has been such bias against the mid majors that a team that can’t win both its conference then the conference tourney, they find themselves in the NIT.
Loyola seems to be built for tourney time, survive and advance.
Illinois should at the minimum be a Sweet 16 team, then who knows what can happen.
The drought of multiple teams playing post-season seems to be over and possibly over for a good stretch coming up.
Gotta feel for DePaul…

lots of money being spent in the Cook County State’s Attorney Democratic primary.

Illinois will go as far as Ayo can take them. They have no pure shooters which does not seem to bode well for a deep run in the Big Dance.
Daffodils and Tulips are both sticking their heads up in our yard (Springfield). Our rose bushes are sending out new green leaves, looks like an early spring here in Springpatch.

“fight alongside Congressman Casten and Congresswoman Underwood”
Has either member of congress actually endorsed in the presidential primary?

If I was a county clerk or election official I think I would be getting a bit nervous about the upcoming primary due to the coronavirus to a degree no matter what happens unless it is gone from the US.
Most election judges are elderly (nothing wrong with that), but if my folks were going to be election judges I might ask if it makes sense for them to spend all day being exposed to people.
If the advice comes out that vulnerable people should avoid crowds you may end up with a large number of election judges unavailable.

Jessica: We have big things to work on Illinois, the Ramblers are trying to make another deep run in the Big Dance, the Illini appear to be on their way to dancing after a long down period. As much as we would all like to consider presidential primary issues, we have our own priorities right now.

What’s going on in the stock and bond markets is going to increase the slope of the pension ramp. Bigger payments will be needed.

Yes I hope as well that The state of Illinois of will have multiple actually good teams soon. A competitive conference is good for everyone.
Loyola seems to have improved compared to last year when they lost to Bradley. I’m hoping a successful year will allow them to continue building some sustainability for more then just a couple years, their 2017 March Madness run gave them a opening but they need multi year successes if they want to be a viable option for top talent.

There was a time you’d see Bradley, SIU, Illinois State, DePaul, Illinois… they’d all be vying for a chance to be in the field of 64. The Valley’s strength is that there are so many good teams vying to be the top team in that conference, they eat each other and the selection committee sees that as weeding out as opposed of seeing deserving teams.
Yep, we are on that same page.
What happened to NU men’s basketball? Did Collins miss his window to peak and move on?

Michael Bloomberg is better than Bernie Sanders because Bernie is bad (or something like that). Now, where to get my check…
