If those folks wish to “go back to work”, perhaps they should apply to work on the janitorial staff, specifically the ER and ICU wards, at almost any hospital in the state.
Or perhaps they’d like to go to work in their nearest nursing home, jail, or other congregate living facility.
Just a suggestion…

We’d all like to go back to normal. However, we’d all like to live too. We’d all like for our friends and relatives to live and more catch the virus from us too. We’d all like the people that survive the virus to not have permanent residual effects. Has he got any ideas how to open up the state safely? If not, sit down.

Lynn - most of the people I hear from wanting to get back to work are small business owners who wonder why the big box stores can be open with social distancing restrictions, but their business can’t be.

They did this in Michigan recently and it got ugly quickly. I can’t get my head around the idea that people think that Pritzker and other governors are doing this to somehow punish them. We’re saving lives people. That’s the one and only agenda here.

If we had more time and space, I’d love to have a discussion about what businesses your friends have.
Are these retail, that could do web sales?
Are they restaurants, who could do delivery?
Are they in some type of personal service that could be practiced in a manner that allows social distancing?
(Not trying to be a smart aleck. Working on the assumption that your friends are not IPI shills.)

Photos of the Michigan rallies, lots of cars driving sround, reminded me of those mass transit ads with three pictures, one that shows a street full of cars, one that shows just the drivers with the cars gone, and then all of the drivers standing bunched together, as if they’d fit on a single bus. I wonder how many people really attended those rallies.

Not only are there political overtones to these rallies (Dems bad), but the big Michigan rally was reported as involving militias, who are quite interested in fomenting chaos in order to advance their racist agenda and usher in the new America. So, not everyone protesting is a covidiot or aggrieved businessperson.

Lynn - fair balance of the three. Retail small specialty (some with web, some not), barbers, bar owners and restaurant owners. I’ve been doing what I can to support the restaurant and bar folks, but the others are kinda hosed.
Lost all respect for Mayor Lightfoot with her haircut after seeing what my barber friends are going through.
