Illinois is moving up the charts, and not in a good way. We just passed up Michigan, and poised to pass up California, for #5 in cases among the states.

Increased cases are bad but I think the governor is correct to focus on Hospitalizations, ICU patients, and Vent patients. All increased. 88 of 119 deaths are from Cook County which is just tragic.

We’re at least making progress on the growth rate in new cases. It’s been slowing down considerably - the average case growth rate for the past 7 days has been about 5%, compared to 8% the week before and 12% the week before that.
But we can’t celebrate that too much while testing is still so limited. And decelerating growth is still growth.

Would it be possible to include a line for an average in new cases of as part of the graph? That would show a tens line.

Are all the deaths associated with a positive test for covid or like New York, are a significant number of them “assumed” to be covid deaths in the absence of a test result? Tried the google to discern this but no luck.
