Second time so far we’ve reached over 2K cases of this virus lately. I was hoping we reached our peak, but I’ll accept that we’re still in process of flattening this curve. It was a tad worrying that we were staying over 1K for about a week or so.
If all this is because of increased testing then perhaps these numbers are to be expected.

What are the six counties that do not have cases?

As Rich pointed out, there was a huge increase in tests today. The relevant number is the ratio of cases to tests, and that is essentially unchanged. Over the last three days that number was 21.9%, 20.4%, and 21.1% based on the numbers at the IDPH website.

Putnam sounds nice this time of year. Right on the river, can fish on the Illinois River.

Joe B… I was born & raised in Edgar Co & now live in Pope Co.
Mr & Ms Minnow wear masks each time we visit the store & assume covid 19 is all around us, whether identified or not.
The Minnows check the IDPH map & stats daily.

2724 new positive cases, out of 16,316 tested in the last 24 hrs.
16.7% positive.
This daily rate of positive cases moved significantly downward, off the high on 4/14 of 25.2%
This is the 3rd down day, since 4/21 when the rate was 23.4%
…
1795* total deaths, out of 39,658 total cases
4.5%. This rate was down slightly today.
It was 3.2% on April 9, when there were 528 deaths, out of 15,422 total cases.
This is the 1st down day, since 4/23 when the rate was 4.6%.
…
39,658 total cases, out of 189,632 total tested.
20.9% positive. This rate is itsy-bitsy lower, off the 4/22 high of 21.4%.
This is the 2nd down day, since 4/22 when the rate was 21.4%.
…
* s/b 1796? 1688 deaths 4/23 + 108 deaths 4/24 = 1796. Not 1795. IDPH must have had to re-categorized a soul.

Do those 6 counties have an ER? Do they have a hospital capable of admissions?
