Will the leaders and JB do the right thing and call for a special session?

I long for the days of sitting on my porch in the evening listening to a baseball game on the radio.

The lion of Will County, Larry Walsh Sr., passed away last night. Wonderful human being. They don’t make them like that anymore.

A special session should include plans to remove all lead pipes from the south side. So many residents are getting lead poisoning.
Test the water. Test the residents. Remove the lead.

Police car chase of murder suspect on WGN TV live last night had Twitter ablaze with how it was like GTA, which I assume is Grand Theft Auto.

Can anyone explain “Phase 3.5″ that Sam Toia has been repeatedly mentioning?

Black Lives Matter crowds in DeKalb have been growing each day since Saturday. Then yesterday, 600 people showed up to DeKalb County Courthouse.

RIP Larry Walsh. Good guy and a huge loss for Will County. Losing too many public servants who can work both sides of the aisle.

Does anyone know about protests set to take place in Barrington today?

How much rain did you all get last night? Here in SW Douglas County we got 4″, a buddy of mine in NE Coles got almost 7″.

RIP Larry Walsh. You were a great person and a better friend.

When Sen. Walsh was running for the Senate his first time I was phone banking and he seen the “not supporting” results on my sheet and he told me he wanted to call each of them so he could “change their mind” - I loved his opptomisim.

I came out last year, but the ProPublica piece on Anna seems appropriate.

I’m not sure if its a statistical anomaly or if I’m just noticing it more, but a large number of birds seem to hit my front bay window every day. I’ve taken to keeping a pitch counter and I’m up to 8 over the last 90 minutes.

I live about a mile north of Irving and Pulaski. I was walking my dog and the sound of sirens was staggering. It sounded like 500 police cars. They even brought out the CPD Bearcat (armored car).

I have seen a similar increase in bird /window collisions…?…I revived a Cardinal by putting a ventilated shoebox over her…because feral cats prowl my property.

“the sound of sirens was staggering”
I watched it live as the chase was happening, with the WGN helicopter following the suspect. I was horrified to learn this morning that someone died as a result of one of the crashes.

RIP Larry. One of a kind and a kind man to all he worked with.
Hear in south Sangamon County (near New City) I had 3/4 of an inch in the rain gauge this morning at 7.

RIP Larry Walsh, I knew him well and he was an absolute pleasure to work with, and he was a good guy away from the office, too. Beer cans will be raised in remembrance at Quigley’s in Symerton, and all around the county.

Shout out to Latin Counts, and all other Clubs in Pilsen, and Cicero for keeping Looters out of the neighborhood and keeping the businesses and people safe…since, Mayors and CPDs cannot do so.
Comment by PilsenMan Thursday, Jun 4, 20 @ 11:26 am
I go to Facebook when I have to, not for fun, but a friend I grew up with directed me to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office page today. It’s got thank you’s and praise for yesterday’s protesters, for law enforcement and emergency services who were ready to support if needed, and a relatively low level of troll-ish comments. It’s not the kind of behavior that makes for headlines, but nice to see amidst the suffering of so many both in this moment and over lifetimes of racism.

— Just Another Anon - maybe instead of a body count you could put some decals on the window so the birds don’t think they can fly through it?

American Bird Conservancy has some window treatment options to prevent birds from crashing into the glass. They also explain why it occurs.

@Candy Dogood:
You need not travel as far South as Anna. The state capital has its own history of racial strife, segregation and violence. There is a monument concerning the 1905 Springfield race riot within walking distance of the Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library. Many hotels were segregated in Springfield for decades.

Channel 20 in Springfield goofs yet again! Tonight on the 6PM news, on an unemployment story, a video chat interview with Rep. Sue Scherer contained the caption “Rep. Sue Scherer. (R) Decatur.” Wrong party! (Maybe she’s a Channel 17 watcher and didn’t notice).
And speaking of Channel 20, tomorrow marks the first anniversary of when former morning meteorologist Joe Crain called out the station and Channel 20 for their “Code Red” nonsense during a marginal/slight risk for severe weather in the viewing area. That would be the last time viewers saw him on TV:
