US Attorney John Lausch is speaking to the media right now. Click here to watch. I’ll update if necessary.
…Adding… Lausch…
Our federal investigations of corruption in Illinois are ongoing. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, and we will get that work done.

Attorneys for the Speaker report that the only responsive documents are routine electric bills which were duly paid. Other than that, the Speaker has retained no documents.

Does G really expect to find anything in Madigan’s office?

I’m really surprised the feds are not indicting today. The ComEd plea is a pretty big matzo ball hanging out there if they don’t indict Madigan, Doherty, ect. I think the feds are still trying to rustle feathers and see if they can get anyone to flip, but still I’d have thought they’d have their ducks all in a row before announcing the ComEd plea.

has anybody ever checked Madigan’s birth certificate to see if his real name isn’t Keyser Soze?

-Does G really expect to find anything in Madigan’s office?-
No one probably expected one of his confidantes to be so glib on the phone either.

Whelp, I don’t about any of you, but as a life-long Dem, I’m hoping MADIGAN GETS PERP WALKED.
Not claiming tho know if it’s true or not, but he IS a big part of the problem in the state.
Now if the IPI could get perp walked as well…well, heck, that would be swell too.

Wondering if any House Dems will call for his resignation but imagine we will hear nothing but crickets from that caucus.

Hey, at least tonight’s news will be more than coronavirus statistics and handwringing over high school sports.

Did any reporter or news outlet (or someone else) get video of the men in suits this morning arriving to Madigan’s office? I’m out sick today due to illness so I’m not in the Capitol Complex today. That would have been interesting to see.

Honest, and serious, question:
If he resigns, who gets to pick the replacement Rep?
It’s the man himself, for the 13th, Vincent Cainkar, for Stickney, and who else? Silvana Tabares, who else? Any idea on the weights?

Somewhere, Stephen Douglas is smirking today.

This is some Rudy Giuliani stuff by Lausch. The FBI serves a grand jury subpoena on Madigan’s office in person in the State Capitol on the same day Lausch announces the ComEd deal, which is the first prosecution that directly mentions Madigan.
It’s not like they don’t have the email address for his attorney at Katten.

Pritzker deserves no credit. He was the only democratic candidate in the gov’s race who did not call out Madigan. He was busy embracing him and McClain and the union support that Madigan brought. It is only now, that a subpoena has been served and his own investigation is heating up that he finally says something negative about the speaker. The irony is he is the one person in the state who could have stood up to him from the beginning and without consequence. He didn’t because he is willing to do anything to win and is a coward.

That’s pretty rich coming from someone who everyone knows committed property tax fraud. Of course he’s a billionaire so it’s okay. The county prosecutor up there’s known to prefer the rich and famous.

Considering Stephen Douglas’s views on slavery and the humanity of Black folks, I wouldn’t be invoking his name with such petty glee against Madigan. You can find plenty other less problematic people to invoke in your very legitimate gripes against the Speaker.

If it was just about you and The Bear from around Alton I would sign up, but for the rest of this group (including Back)- - as they would say in one of the western suburbs- - “Forgetaboutit”.
It would be a huge mess. (But it might be fun.)
