That White Sox team is legit.
Good Luck!
As most know, the only time most Cubs fans don’t cheer for the Sox is when they are playing the Cubs.
Go Cubs!
Go Sox (except when you’re playing the Cubs!)!

Was just about to switch streaming services to get Marquee… No rush now.
Comment by Cool Papa Bell Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:22 pm
This was/is expected unfortunately IMO. I was curious coming into the season (pre-pandemic) if the sox would have a better record than the cubs.
Comment by 1st Ward Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:22 pm
watched the game last night.. it was just like a typical regular season game at Sox park.. EMPTY/NO FANS
Comment by NotRich Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:24 pm
Fine. I have low expectations for the Cubs. Looks like the Sox are starting to live up to the promise. Should be their year if it all clicks for the new guys.
Plus, they’re used to playing with no fans in the seats.
Comment by 47th Ward Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:24 pm
Not really.
Same club as the past two seasons.
Cubs… get behind… score 3 runs or less… late “rally” with a lot of noise, no runs.
The ball club hasn’t changed with a new skipper, Covid-19 or not. Ross will go down as a nice player who helped the Cubs break the curse but will be quite forgettable as a manager… and they couldn’t fire him.
What real… good… have I seen… what is different from the past 2 season? None.
The club is vanilla, no real flavor, nothing spicy, or tasty… what starter am I going to look forward to on the bump… that has a strong likelihood of losing 2-1?
The holes are glaring, the enthusiasm is lacking, the leadership from the front office to the clubhouse is waning.
I see it… Over/Under - 33.5 wins. Terrible.
Also, hat tip to - Big Jer -, appreciate your words yesterday.

I’m not gonna put too much stock into two exhibition games…

Arrows are definitely pointing up on the South side. Ironic isn’t it that they finally have a team worth going out to see, but no one can. Thank goodness for NBC Sports Chicago.

Sox looking solid
Comment by Frank talks Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:32 pm
We’ll see what happens. I agree, Sox looking solid, but their fans still spend all kinds of time talking about us.
Comment by Former Downstater Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:36 pm
Relax Richie. Two exhibition games does not a season make.
Comment by Flat Bed Ford Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:36 pm
As a lifelong Cubs fan, anyone surprised by this, hasn’t been paying attention.
Comment by Bruce (no not him) Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:37 pm
They were exhibition games. They mean nothing. The games that count begin Friday.
Comment by Just the Facts Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:38 pm
This season may look like the 1994 strike season, Sox do well, but no Playoffs & World Series, not bc of a strike, but COVID

I believe the proper question is: Yu ok?
Also, bookmarking this post for later, with 80% confidence level it will not age well.

The Cubs looked tired last September. Now they look like they’re sleep walking. I was disappointed that things ended so abruptly in the first. I really wanted to see how many runs Darvish would have given up without the pitch count saving him.

As a Cardinals fan, I’ve been impressed with the White Sox so far - ha ha

If banning the goat got you a 100+ year drought, I can only imagine what electing Donald Trump gets you (but I’m pretty sure it starts with watching Jiminez and Cease becomes stars).
Comment by lake county democrat Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 3:57 pm
Look, I’m happy for the Sox and I think they’re going to play some fun baseball. As a bonus, I’ll probably see more of their games than the Cubs if Marquee never makes it to Comcast.
But, to ask how we’re doing after two meaningless losses during an unprecedented pandemic after spring training and season was thrown into an uproar as if we’re all despondent over the state of the Cubs is projecting just a bit much, methinks.
We’re fine. And don’t sleep on the Cubs.
Comment by Joe Bidenopolous Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:07 pm
The Sox look like a pretty good young team.
The Cubs look like exactly like the past three years.
With the salary limits the Ricketts have put in place, the latter is to be expected. They’ll tear down what Theo and Jed build soon enough (the last two are hardly blameless, but they don’t set the budget).
Comment by thunderspirit Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:09 pm
Personally doing fine … can’t say the same for the team.

Lol can’t spend it on the team, they’ve got to donate that money to the Trump 2020 campaign.
Comment by Lester Holt’s Mustache Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:29 pm
Are Sox fans really trash talking about exhibition games? I get that it’s been a long few years for you folks but seriously, it’s kind of sad to see you this way.
Comment by slow down Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:30 pm
The Cubs find themselves in about the same situation the Sox were in at this time following their last WS victory. They’re caught between competing and rebuilding and can’t seem to commit fully to either. In some respects this shortened season will help. It will allow us to say goodbye to the past and cut ties with a few veterans who need to move on.
Comment by Pundent Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:31 pm
Yep - all is well. Completely back to a normal performance on the field, even in the strangest of years. Wait ’til next year.
Comment by Lt Guv Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:34 pm
slow down, no. A preponderance of evidence of the entirety of the last two years says the Cubs are very much on the decline, while the Sox are very much on the incline.
Comment by Ducky LaMoore Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 4:38 pm
It’s all good. This season is basically an exhibition anyway. I hope the Sox continue to develop and play well. A lot of friends and family are Sox fans and they’ve been patient.
Comment by SSL Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 5:10 pm
I don’t care if my beloved Sox go 0-60. I have to say, amid all this pandemic craziness it sure was nice to see a small bit of normalcy again, if you can even call it that: baseball.
“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.”

I’m here waiting for the regular season to start. Summer camp counts for nothing unless your a White Sox fan and think you won’t a World Series or something.
Comment by The Dust Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 6:09 pm
O please, it was an exhibition game with the usual turnout at Sox Park, means nothing

Comment by Levois J Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 8:19 pm
I still don’t know how the Cubs are on a network that a major Chicago cable provider (Comcast) isn’t carrying. I can’t imagine not being able to watch baseball all season, but that’s where it’s headed (yes, no baseball is better that White Sox baseball…I’ll just listen on the radio of they haven’t ruined that too yet).
Comment by Ferris Bueller Tuesday, Jul 21, 20 @ 8:57 pm
@Ok, LOL. two words for Cubbie fans, Eloy Jimenez. he LOVES beating the Cubs.
