Illinois' 7-day average case positivity rate has been falling since abt 11/13, but there is still time to see a post-Thanksgiving surge. Also stil 3x higher than in July. Trend is good, but not out of the woods yet. pic.twitter.com/rwCxAKo5kg

  1. It’s nice to be under 10k for like the 3rd or 4th day in a row

  2. We should have a better idea of the damage Thanksgiving did pretty soon, right?

  3. Hopefully Thanksgiving did not cause a lot of damage. Some Friends of mine still got together with family but they ate outside around fire pits. I was surprised at how many friends posted pictures of these type of get togethers on FB

  4. Ezike and others now say that the spike in cases might not be seen for a few more days. I think they are being overly cautious. She wants to start counting forward 14 days from the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I think that’s silly.

People gathered on Thanksgiving. They may have traveled on Sunday but on a plane you have to have a mask on and transmission risk in a plane is way less than a dinner table with 10 people.

I don’t think a spike is coming. I really think that the overwhelming number of people didn’t gather in big groups and most listened to reason.

Our case rate still needs to nudge downward - but we are in a much better place now that many would have though possible four or five weeks ago.

  5. It’s possible that we actually are in a surge, but it’s being off-set. Maybe the drop would be even steeper but-for the extra Thanksgiving interactions.
