* I have to leave the office for a bit so I can go get tested before session begins. I’ve never been tested before, and I had a heck of a time this week finding a test in Springfield with a quick turn-around time. The fastest one I could find produces results in 3-4 days (rapid testing should not be used for individuals because of high rates of false negatives). The rest were 5 days and up. I also have to stop by the vet to pick up something for Oscar (he’s fine, but he’s out of his meds).
* The Question: What has been your recent COVID-19 testing experience?
…Adding… I’m back. Easy-peasy. Very fast. And they even said I may have results in 2 days.

Was tested three weeks ago. My Doc sent me to Springfield clinic’s testing site, had results back in about 2 hours. Key was probably my Doc ordered the testing.

The HSHS-run testing at your local Scheels turned around the gold-standard accuracy Quest PCR test in less than 36 hours (early November). The Sangamon County Health Dept. PCR test came back within 3 days, but that was many months ago.

Had test PCR test in mid-december and had results in 3 days, if not two. I went to CVS on corner of Wabash and MacArthur. Had to register online to get appt in advance. Went smoothly and all while in my car at drive through.

I have not been tested. I’ve had no symptoms, and, so far as I know, have not been exposed to anyone who has had the virus. And I have not been partying.

I’ve been tested at the fairgrounds in Bloomington at least a dozen times (Reditus). I get a number on their website, drive up and give them my number, get tested in my car, and get the results in 12-36 hours. How long it takes depends on the line that day. The longest I’ve waited is an hour and the shortest is two cars ahead of me.

First and only test was back in August prior to a routine medical procedure. Went to the drive through at Northwestern Memorial downtown. In and out in 20 minutes, got the (negative) result in 24 hours. The nasal swab was uncomfortable but not painful and it was over quickly. All in all, a good experience.

Tested in July - 5 days to wait for results. Went to rapid test at Walgreens and got the results in 3 hours.
Both sites were well run and dealt with great people.

I was tested at my local Walgreens on Friday December 18th and had the results (negative) Monday December 21st. Done quickly.

Innovative Express facility in former Mini Cooper dealership. Made appointment & once there it took approx 15-20mins start to finish. Results came via text 3 days later. (negative) Did not feel like the swab actually touched my brain tho, phew.

Doc ordered the test for me. Had the test done at Rush.
I got the results the next day.
Really no problem at all. Just took a couple of minutes.

I had a test done last November at CVS. No waiting. You make an appointment on line. I received the results in 3 days.

Have been tested… four times… I think. Maybe five. All at the Peoria Civic Center parking lot. Never had to wait more than 20 minutes. Just jam a stick up your nose, twirl it around, and break it off into the container. Pull the car forward, cough a couple times, let loose a big sneeze, drive onward. Every time.

I’ve been tested at City of Chicago sites twice. First time no wait walk up and got results in about 24 hrs. Second time was before Thanksgiving so longer lines but not bad. Results were a bit longer.

I test twice weekly, I’ve never waited more than 30 minutes to test and 12 hours for results. But then again I work for the U of I.

First time was a saliva test and received results in 36
hours. Next two times it was at a clinic parking lot where they used nasal testing and gave you a rapid test and then followed up with a lab test. First time was uncomfortable but the second time I think she was trying to poke my eye out from the back. My state rep told us that she also had a similar experience and actually got an eye infection. The 4th time was a drive thru at CVS where you administered the nasal test yourself. But I didnt get those results for over a week so that was useless.

3-4 days is the norm. This seems like a ridiculous amount of time to me.

Neither I nor my wife have been tested nor do we exhibit any symptoms. We keep to ourselves mostly and play by the rules.

On Veterans Day I was tested at the Waukegan state site and got my results 6 days later. A couple of days after I took mine my wife took her test, arranged through her doctor, and got her results in two days.

Got tested twice. Both times took five days to get the results. Process was painless and longest part of it was the wait in line.

I had one test in August at a urgent care center and had my results in a day. I had another test out of state in November that was processed by Quest and I have still not received my results, despite emails back and forth.

Springfield area little known pro-tip…when testing at Memorial Hospital or Springfield Clinic facilities…you can get your results within 24 hours by going to labcorp.com and creating a profile/login. You get your results from online at the same time as your provider (or even sometimes before) and negating the wait time for a call with results.

I’ve taken advantage of the IDPH offered mobile testing when available and had results in about 2 days

I have tested 5 times now, one prior to an out-patient procedure, the rest for personal assurance. All negative. The last was 12/19 in the parking lot of Sangamon County Public Health (testing by IDPH). Was told I would hear either way in 3-4 days. Guess the holidays got in the way because I finally tracked down my results this past Monday. What if I had tested positive and been walking around all that time?

Thanksgiving, with uncomfortable, but not painful, nasal swabs. results in 2 days. Tested through Loyola hospital prior to medical procedures. Both negative.

The testing site near me has been getting results back in 24 hours for the last 3 weeks.
