* “This is bowling. There are rules”…
A drone operator shot a short video in a Minneapolis bowling alley to rally support for the business. It was viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media and won high praise from Hollywood directors. https://t.co/1hzsXQa7ev pic.twitter.com/1SHY1HDy1d

Go Illini. Just wish I could throw a few dollars on them the next several weeks. Hopefully a long run in the tourney will vost the state enough money to have them rethink their decision

To the post,
As far as open threads go, this one is over the line.
So then some may have no frame of reference here, They’ll be like children who wonder in the middle of movie… when talking drones.
In my corner of Kendall County, these past few great weather days I’ve seen a “couple” drones milling about in the sky. Dunno if it was checking on people gathering in high volumes or tin foil hatters using drones to warn that law enforcement was near.
That type of aggression won’t stand, man.
Then again, these folks could be nihilists. For them, there’s nothing to be afraid of, so they are merely flying drones.
But, this is a tough thing, talking drones and Kendall County. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you’s. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old OW’s head. Luckily I’m adhering to a pretty strict regimen of cannoli to keep my mind, you know, limber.
Yeah, well, that’s just could be my opinion, man

Anyone have insight into local enforcement of the Local Preference Act? The state has hit the unemployment threshold and IDOL is saying it is going to enforce the Act the local level, even though the statute says it applies to public works projects using dollars provided/administered by the state. (I’ve seen an email from IDOL that says so.) It is complicating a water tower project in DeKalb that will help fulfill part of the agreement between the city and the Facebook server farm. Two of the three lowest bidders are from out of state, and the “preferred” one will put us $200,000 over budget. https://tinyurl.com/s7yfnvrf

You put the Late Night With David Letterman theme over that video you have perfection.

The daffodils are up in my front yard and I’ve dropped my big winter coat off at the cleaners. And then I saw the forecast for early next week.
I’ve lived here all my life except for college. You’d think I would know better.

That’s a great call. Every time I see that video I’m more amazed at its preciseness.
I do miss the “old” Letterman show.
(Tips my cowboy hat, while having a sarsaparilla, to - Northsider -)

Pretty darn cool video; flying that drone took a lot of skill to avoid…well, everything. But I wouldn’t rush to put your winter coat away just yet Illinoisans; we’ve had measurable and shovelable snow in March and April near Chicago.

That is really good drone flying.
I have one, it’s not that easy to do!

15 years ago today was the night of the twin F2 Springfield tornadoes. With Parkway Pointe, Jerome, Wabash Avenue, and the east side hardest hit. Hard to believe it’s been that long already.

Dave Wasserman has IL remap rumors on Twitter.
https://mobile.twitter.com/Redistrict/status/1370406992230109184
It has IL Dems doubling down on their failed IL-13 seat that continues to try to wed conservative Metro East/Decatur ancestral Dems with white collar/super liberal UIUC Dems and some white collar libs in Bloomington-Normal/ISU.
Macon County is Trump country and should probably not be the centerpiece of any attempted Dem Downstate district in 2021.
I suppose a lot of these considerations are based on letting Cheri Bustos keep roughly the same district but an I-74 district that unites the bulk of Champaign-Urbana and bulk of Bloomington-Normal with Dem-friendly parts of Peoria just makes so much more sense to me.
Really do not want to be vote sunk another 10 years, particularly not in a district stretching from Lawrenceville to Rochelle and this map would have me teetering pretty close if not totally sunk.

===IL remap rumors===
Not even sure they rise to that level.

Fair enough, Rich.
I am just going by Wasserman’s characterization of his info as rumors in his separate tweet claiming Underwood and Foster will be swapping turf.

=not in a district stretching from Lawrenceville to Rochelle=
Saw the tweet. It looks more like from Grayville to Forreston instead.
