Disappointing end to yesterday’s Sox game. Failure to advance the tying run on second base with nobody out, strikeouts, etc. We got six games upcoming with the Tribe and four with the Red Sox. Let’s get ‘em.

Why would anyone swing at that pitch, it was never in the strike zone? Welcome Rich, and you really didn’t miss much.

As Steve Stone said in the middle innings; it felt like a game where the Sox should be up 5-1 at a time when it was 1-1. They had their chances.
Question for the Springfield folk: My wife and her friend will be in Springfield tomorrow. They are picking up a puppy from near there Wednesday morning. They will have some time in town. Where are there good antique or craft stores in the area?

Unfortunately, that was quintessential Dylan Cease: great stuff, but can’t get through 5 complete innings. Though, the loss goes on the bullpen — again.

That’s a wicked pitch, but a horrible decision by the hitter to swing. At no point between the mound and the plate was that pitch a strike. LOL

That is just Nasty ! How would you like to try and catch or block that thing breaking 2 feet at 85 mph.

Big Tent@ 7:02 LOL ! Its same with the knuckle ball until you try to hit or catch one. The science is Real.

Considering the way he shook his arm after throwing, he won’t be around long.

Are they wearing that uni so LaRussa knows which team is his?

“That uni” as in the 80s Sox uniforms (during the first TLR tenure).

Looking forward to hearing what it will be like the first time the Angels and Pujols play the Sox this season–the first time Pujols will play against a team managed by TLR. After 10 years of having him as his Cardinal manager. And LaRussa’s “retirement” from STL after the 2011 Series crown was followed 2 months later by the Pujols departure to the Angels in the much publicized contract situation.
Comment by EssentialStateEmployeeFromChatham Monday, Apr 12, 21 @ 10:20 am
The Sox bullpen stinks so far this year. Their “closer” blew a save on his first batter yesterday, negating a great pinch-hit home run by Eaton. The bullpen performance on the first road trip was even worse. Let’s hope LaRussa doesn’t bring back Salome Barojas

Uh, the Sox season opening games were in LA with LAA, Madden and Pujols. You can find out what happened using teh google.

Whoops–I found that out via the Google shortly after posting that reply. Sorry about that!
Will be interesting to see what the return trip to Chicago will be like for Pujols (albeit on the South Side–but he did play at New Comiskey in 2006 in interleague while with the Cardinals, and that series was a disaster for the Cards).
For the record, I am a Cardinal fan. But haven’t really followed sports intently as I used to in recent years and especially since the pandemic began.

Have nothing but high praise for the way the Sangamon County public health department and National Guard are running the mass vaccination site at the state fair grounds. Very easy to make an appointment. Very well organized website for appointments and facility at the fair grounds.
If you are willing and able to travel, this is the place to go.
Made a same day appointment for the second Pfizer shot last Friday. There were plenty of available appointments.

Scroll down and click in the link for the state fairgounds vaccine site. A quick scan shows appointments are available every day this week from 9am to 3:20pm.

Say, did you see that former State Dem Senator Annazetta Collins was charged with under-reporting income and failure to report income? https://www.chicagocriminallawyerblog.com/former-state-senator-charged-with-tax-evasion/ Story goes on to say it may be the Feds squeezing her on the Com Ed investigation as well.
