* ILGOP fundraising email. No surprise, they’re mad…
Rich,
Last year, for the first time in our state’s history, a state Supreme Court justice was defeated due to their ties to the Madigan machine. We did it with your help.
Now, Springfield Democrats want to continue their political power grab with an entirely NEW Supreme Court map — the first since the 1960s. Without a new gerrymandered judicial map, Democrats have no chance at preventing Illinois Republicans from taking 4-3 control of the Illinois Supreme Court in 2022.
4-3 conservative control of the Illinois Supreme Court means the following reforms have a chance:
• Term Limits
• Pension Reform
• Fair Maps (no more gerrymandering)
• Restrict Governor’s Ability to Issue Indefinite Emergency Orders
Add your name to our petition to support taking the Illinois Supreme Court today >>>
The only reason Democrats are concerned about the state Supreme Court now is because they won’t have a majority on the bench to rubber stamp radical leftist policies for them.
Springfield Democrats aren’t concerned about the people of Illinois.
Springfield Democrats are concerned about their own selfish interests.
Sign the Petition Today
Standing up against these outrageous attacks on our democracy is a MUST-DO, Rich. And we can’t stand up without you. Sign the petition NOW >>>Thank you,
Illinois Republican Party
CONTRIBUTE
Um, the big pension reform decision was unanimous and authored by a Republican.
* The Question: What are you mad about these days?

I’m mad about being mad

The fact that it appears that a universal DH seems to be a foregone conclusion for next season in baseball. That will effect me on a personal level much more than anything that Springfield does.
I say that half jokingly — maybe less than half because I despise the DH — to support the point of keeping whatever angers us in perspective.

Anti-vaxxers. And people who claim they’re not anti-vax but still aren’t getting the vaccine.

With the passage of SB 0825, we have likely seen the last federally-indicted Chicago alderman. End of an era.

Um… maybe they should direct their frustration on term limits to the Senators on both sides of the aisle.
I find it interesting that they’re upset about term limits not happening when I haven’t seen anyone mention the fact that the term limits on leadership bill, that was widely celebrated after passing the House, quietly died in the Senate.

It’s electric scooter season again in Chicago. Keep your head on a swivel out there people. And if you get the chance, toss one or two in the river, especially if they’re dumped on the sidewalk.

Surprisingly little. In Binny’s today I overheard a customer complain about his wife, taxes, and just about everything in-between. It made me reflect on what a relatively happy life I have.
And I’ll be even happier around 6 PM when I’m drinking those ice cold beers.

I am surprised Illinois Democrats are not more eager to help Illinois business and those they employ recover from the pandemic.
The enhanced unemployment for the next three months during a period where there is clearly a huge demand for labor and the COVID restrictions are expiring in a week is terrible policy.
This is on top of the business restrictions and shutdowns JB imposed that our neighboring states did not. The data proves we were not any safer that they were.
There is simply no reason for Illinois with all of it’s advantages to rank 41st in unemployment.

I’m just generally irked at the Eastern Bloc yahoos. But, nothing’s gonna change. Same ol’ same ol’.

First, hat tip to notsosure’s comment.
For me it’s Mayor Lightfoot. One of my pet peeves is people who do not learn, adjust, or adapt.
She has alienated members of the media. She has high turnover in her staff. And after 2+ years she continues to exhibit the same negative personality traits and refuses to grow into the job.
Rahm Emanuel was no picnic in the personality department either. But as someone who was born in Chicago and has lived for most of my 62 years in the Chicago Metro area I can’t think of a worse Chicago Mayor than Lightfoot. Maybe Bilandic but all I remember about Bilandic was he was blamed for a poor job at getting Chicago dug out from a snow storm.

Nothing.
But I will be mad if the obvious musical choice in this thread isn’t chosen to play us out tomorrow for the weekend.

===during a period where there is clearly a huge demand for labor===
That’s when the price of labor should go up, right? And yet most “job creators” aren’t raising wages. Go figure

I’m mad about my comments often not being published here when I work so hard to be civil, non-profane, factual, and always Lefty Lefty.
Also The Big Lie. That enrages me. For real.

Unmasked people who walk around stores with their unmasked small children who are clearly too young to be vaccinated. I’m sure the adults are anti vax as well.

The long lines at the Secretary of State’s Drivers license renewal.
Blood Alcohol Content of .08% means in one hour on an empty stomach I can have four beers in one hour and drive away legally. I would feel safer on our roads after dark with .05 BAC. Three beers for my size in 60 minutes is still probably a brewski too many.
Our country used to have 70% Income tax rates which led to Tax Shelters industry. That is a high tax rate on personal income. I wish our legislature had the strength of character to have a Casino and Video Gaming Tax Rate of 70%. Currently too much Capital is outflowing to New Jersey and Nevada.
The Lottery Contract should be reviewed.

After living through the past year with mixed feelings, mainly fear and anger, I’m at peace. My family will be fully vaccinated as of next week and I’m grateful to all the people who made this possible.

It wasn’t for a DL renewal, but my last 2 in person interactions with SoS (early March, earlier this week) for car titles only had about a 5 minute wait to get to a person who could handle the issue.

In terms of Illinois politics, people who get elected but don’t know how to accomplish anything. There are people in both parties this can apply to.
People who have forgotten how to drive getting out on the roads and causing accidents.
People on bicycles that don’t obey the Rules of the Road. (Wonder if they are also the same people as the previous item?)
People who won’t get vaccinated.
etc …

People who *still* wear their masks under their noses. Seriously, now you can just lie about your vax status and just not wear one at all (except for places that still require them).
