*** UPDATE 1 *** The budget fix just passed 71-44-1 after some spirited debate.
*** UPDATE 2 *** The FOID bill, HB562, just passed 75-40.
*** UPDATE 3 *** HB1092, the Firearms Restraining Order Act, passed 61-47 (it only required 60 votes).
*** UPDATE 4 *** HB2908, the Chicago elected school board bill, passed 70-41.

On the FOID bill Hoffman had it wrong in the debate - the buyer is responsible to go to the FFL…
“Provides that any person within this State who receives any firearm, stun gun, or taser from a person who is not a federally licensed firearm dealer shall provide a record of the transfer within 10 days of the transfer to a federally licensed firearm dealer”

This fits with their national platform of disenfranchising voters of color. While the mayor doesn’t seem to know what that means, the Republicans do.
