So nasty storms last night. I hope everyone is okay.

Indeed hope everyone is OK. Homes and possessions can largely be replaced but people can’t. Those areas are going to need support for a while. We were in the warned area but only lost a couple hours of sleep. Looks like worst storm since Coal City and in a much more populated area.

Great news. Senator Micheal Hastings has decided not to run for Secretary of State, Instead he will run for re-election in a newly drawn district. Hopefully, he will endorse and transfer the campaign contributions he collected to an African America candidate running for Secretary of State.

Where oh where did Illinois’ CAFR go?
Where oh where can it be?
With assets cut short,
And liabilities cut long.
Where oh where can it be?
To the data …
For FYs 2017-2019 OAG released 53 financial audits each FY.
For FY 2020, thru Thursday, it has released 43.
For the 8 business days left in FY 2021, with 1 reserved for the CAFR, OAG must release 1.25 financial audits a day to be done by 06/30/2021.
That doesn’t include Compliance audits.

Is there a round-up anywhere of all the IL journos who got trib buyouts this week?
Comment by hisgirlfriday Monday, Jun 21, 21 @ 9:45 am
I don’t know about a round-up, but I know those taking buyouts included:
Mary Schmich
Heidi Stevens
Steve Chapman
All of whom will be missed.
And John Kass, who won’t.

“And John Kass, who won’t.” Maybe this is the metaphorical hurricane that Kristen McQuery was referring to.

Hastings should hang on to the majority of that money for when he runs again 4 years from now after Alexi announces his bid for Governor.

===Alexi announces his bid for Governor.===
“Good luck with that.”
- Hon. Jack O’Malley
One race at a time. Alexi is the type of candidate that the GOP can pummel with such seedy and shady underpinnings… for SoS

Seconding Rep. Kifowit. Go see the FRIDA KAHLO exhibit at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. It is small, but fantastic! Watch the movie before or after.
