We’re expecting more torrential downpours today. Our flood warning is moderate, but lots of counties have multiple severe warnings.

My rain gauge goes up to 5″ and was overflowing (since Friday) when I emptied it this morning. We needed rain, but someone wasn’t careful when they asked for it.

Enjoying the increase in rain and storms we’ve been seeing, but the joy is tampered by knowing they’re influenced by Climate Change.
As the western US heats up, the extra water drying up there and the increasing Pacific Ocean temperatures mean a lot more water in the atmosphere that has to fall somewhere. Illinois is likely to see less systems with mild showers and more torrential downpours and severe weather systems.
Basically saying, I am looking hopefully forward for Illinois energy bill to pass and federal climate-conscious infrastructure spending.

The Cardinals need Tony La Russa back from the White Sox.

I’ve decided to take the afternoon off and build a boat and start throwing two of everything into it.

From the careful what you wish for department: Asked for drought busting rain and got a flood. We’re in a flash flood watch today. Still, glad we’re not one of those states that get hurricanes and three foot rainfalls. But that’s no consolation to those in Illinois hit with tornadoes and flooding.

LaRussa can return only if he promises to pitch and hit on Wainwrights off days
In the meantime how will all survive the sacking on Bruce Rushton?

Paul Sullivan’s Tribune column on the Bears and 2034 is absolutely hilarious, and not just cause of the Bears slams. He hits the DuSable thing over and over. really funny.
