Debating getting the booster before the booster is recommended/approved….it seems to be the biggest rebellion against anti-vaxxers…

what’s the power outage report? (and which will happen again today.) I see friends from Evanston, Skokie and Rogers Park with problems.

“Sleepy Joe” got a bipartisan infrastructure deal in the Senate that is greatly needed for our state, especially the lead pipe issue. It’s just one step in an arduous legislative process that involves a second, larger piece of legislation, the budget plan. It will take skill and compromise to land the two planes at once. Doing so will be tremendously consequential, including politically.

Stunned by news that the $3.5 trillion package made it through the U.S. senate last night. Final approval votes at 3 a.m. this morning.

Schedule changes at work Friday.
Dreading the return of 60-70+ hour work weeks.
I’m getting too (banned word) old for this (other banned words).
Definitely want to be in a position where I’m looking for a new job after May 20, 2022.

Wondering the same thing too. How will the place you get them (e.g., Orr Building vaccination site) know? Can they deny you your third shot if you show your filled out vaccination card?
Comment by EssentialStateEmployeeFromChatham Wednesday, Aug 11, 21 @ 10:11 am
wow, vaccination story by WBEZ. quote about Rep. Evans, cancer survivor, fearing family could get the virus if people don’t get the vaccination reminds one of ex Cub Rizzo, cancer survivor, unvaccinated, now Covid positive. everybody vax up.

Sky very dark, thunderstorm scheduled to roll through shortly (10:23 a.m.), south burbs of Chicago by its track up next. And remember, a flash-flooded road, street, or viaduct can kill you. Turn around, don’t drown like a clown.

Under 12 year olds need to be cleared for the vaccine far sooner than later. Israel is using it in special circumstances.

Personal request from a cyclist who sometimes uses busy urban streets. Motorists, please use your signals when turning. Actually, I’d like to make that request as a fellow motorist also.

Not just urban streets but I’ve also seen this on busy Springfield-area interstates. Especially on 3-lane portions of 55. Even drivers weaving across three lanes at once sometimes never use their turn signals.

Wondered if there might be any merit in Illinois schools without air conditioning being permitted to do remote instruction on hot days? Seems like that could cut down on mask battles and related drama.
