==Frerichs says pandemic has ‘forged creativity’==
I wonder if the pandemic has also forged creative ways, in Frerichs’ mind, of coming up with new ideas of taxing retirement income?

Mostly bummed today I am clearly not a million dollars richer. Ah well.

The percentage disparity between the number of people who are fully vaccinated (61%) and those that have received one dose (78%) seems odd given that we’re only administering about 24K daily doses. I would have thought these numbers would be a bit closer.

First time I shouted at someone in a grocery store all pandemic, lady walking around her mask under her chin. I’m like, “MA’AM THERE IS A STATEWIDE MANDATE.”

It’s sad to read, but not surprising the Edgar County Watchdogs have already come up with a law that they think prevents the Governor from issuing these vaccine mandates. Plus East Peoria’s Mayor has already stated he’s not going to enforce the mask mandate.
Is it that hard for these people to understand that families are losing loved ones to this virus and it’s the unvaccinated. When did we become the society that couldn’t do our part?

@Pundent - Agreed. Illinois is an outlier when it comes to first and second doses. If the breakout is accurate, there should be some messaging around the importance of the second dose.

I would have thought these numbers would be a bit closer.” I am counted as partially vaccinated because I got my second dose at the FEMA site in Indiana because it was so hard to get appointments in Chicago back in early April. No amount emails that I’ve written to both IDPH or the Indiana health department have resulted in my records being updated here in Illinois. IDPH told me that the Indiana health department needs to notify them of my vaccine. The Indiana health department will not acknowledge my emails. I expect that there are more than a few of us.

“25,636 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Over the Past Week” Holy Cow. Can someone tell me which county had the most new cases this past week?

==Almost 78% of Illinois adults have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and 61% of Illinois adults are fully vaccinated==
According to the NYT vaccine database, IL is 15th for those receiving at least one dose, and 28th for fully vaccinated. That’s the biggest delta amongst the 50 states.
Curious why the drop off is so large here…perhaps a reporting issue?
Comment by The Doc Friday, Aug 27, 21 @ 3:21 pm
131 new cases in McLean County. Most are unvaccinated. 29 hospitalized with the majority unvaccinated. One male in his 70’s and not affiliated with a nursing home has died this week.
Only 50% are fully vaccinated. C’mon people!

=lady walking around her mask under her chin=
The mask under the chin thing really grinds my gears. Come on, you’ve already got it on your face. Pulling it under your chin is just a giant middle finger to your fellow humans.
