Yay, the Yankees got bounced, so maybe we can have a footwear series. Let’s go Cards though.

Chicago is ranked at or near the top by travelers and also wins in corporate relocations. Wish there was a huge public-private partnership to help reduce violent crime, with big investments in certain communities. For decades there’s been crime and angry and scared reaction from the many who just react to bad news but ignore the conditions that help fuel violence. We need to put skin in the game.

If lead poisoning leads to violence. We can thank people like Ken Griffin and their unwillingness to pay their fair share of taxes for our lead pipe disaster. If we replaced these pipes 20 years ago we would see a reduction in violence that Illinois’s richest resident bemoans. The blame squarely rests on his shoulders and those who do his bidding. If we replace the pipes now it will be a generation before we see the drop in violence. We should start immediately and make the wealthy pay.

Kofi looking like a good contender for NCAA POY. Hopefully, Illini team gives him the assists and opportunity to shine like the top-5 draft pick he will be.

Right now? The increasing need to institute a permanent 3 day weekend. What ever happened to those futurists who said we would work progress towards higher productivity and fewer work days? I know the answer is instead we now have a system CEOs make 140,000% of what their employees do, but I still think a three day weekend would be nice.

im aware that sometimes these rankings and awards require a donation of some sort. any chance this designation for chicago is not the result of actual merit, and rather the result of giving the biggest contribution? also, it just felt strange to me to see this story next to the stories of daily shootings. the city doesn’t feel safe right now.

Here’s the other side of that question. What day would you prefer for that third day, Monday or Friday? I would prefer Monday.

1) the business investment is measured in dollars.
2) the Condé Nast is measured in membership.
3) Do your own research and keep up.
=== the city doesn’t feel===
How do you “measure” that… I mean, I don’t want to think someone is donating to *you* or you’re being manipulated by something that Chicago haters are feeding you, amirite?

If we taxed a bottle of liquor at the $11 dollar an hour minimum wage rate, would we see a reduction in gunshot victims? How big a reduction?

Here’s hoping the “Good” Lance Lynn pitches tomorrow. Still don’t know why TLR won’t start Cease in Game 1? He’s been lights out since the Break.
SOX need bullpen to step up. TA7 is the offensive key. LET’S GO SOX

Even after all this time as a Cardinal fan I still have a hard time getting used to Lynn and TLR not being Redbirds.

It was such a thrill last night, playoff baseball.
Great matchup tonight too, Dodgers-Cardinals…
I’m all-in on a White Sox - Giants World Series, the Giants, like the White Sox, have been an absolute treat to watch as my “west coast baseball” fix after 9pm.
For the record, a White Sox - Cardinals World Series might be too much angst for me to bear.

I am confident that I would be just as productive over the week working four 9-hour days as I am with five 8-hour days. I’d prefer Monday-Thursday. I also like the idea of 4 days paid work, 1 day unpaid work around the house, 1 day available for recreation/shopping, and 1 day of rest.
But I think quite a few would prefer to make that third rest day Wednesday instead of Friday or Monday.

Most NBA teams aren’t in the market for a big man who can’t shoot. I love him for the Illini, but there’s just no way he goes top 5

Well, two things we Cardinals fans and the White Sox fans can agree on: 1. We’re glad the Yankees are done. 2. Cubs suck. Go Cards! Good luck Sox! Hope to meet in an I-55 World Series.

“Yeah, but on a technicality.”
Correct , but TRO/Injunctions are an Extraordinary Remedy and Proper Procedure is critical. So the Appellate Court kicked it back.
Time will tell as to the Ultimate Issues.

BTW: The city does not feel safe when the advice of a Michigan Ave. concierge is if you are going more than block use a cab or Uber.

You must not get out much.
I’ve yet to go to a city where concierge has suggested, for safety, “unless you know you’re way around, I’d suggest an Uber or cab”
Cities, not Des Moines, Iowa…
