The big hush-hush story of last fall was that right-wing, anti gay rights Republican Alan Keyes had a lesbian daughter.
It was hush-hush because she wasn’t totally “out.” No longer. From the Equality Maryland website
Valentine’s Day Rally in Annapolis
Featuring Maya Marcel-Keyes, daughter of Alan Keyes and a self-described young queer anarchist who grew up in Darnestown, MD. Maya is speaking publicly for the first time about LGBT issues. Don’t miss this important rally at 5 p.m. in front of the state house on February 14, also featuring Judy Shepard and other community leaders.

If you really want a story, you’ve got to take a much closer look at the IL SBE VISTA/IDEA Software systems for voter registration. It’s looking like a serious giant mess to all the locals, and it’s not looking to get better.
I realize this isn’t the topic to post on, but somebody really needs to kick over the rocks at the SBE & take a serious look at this, as these folks have apparently decided that this is somehow going to work regardless of anything and everything.
Understand, my info. is probably somewhat prejudiced as I’m getting my information from the locals and the election vendors (the street level operators, not the suits), but when the people who got to get the job done are starting to sweat bullets because they just don’t see it comming together, well, it’s time to get concerned.
Bottom line: There’s serious probability of random data validity failures in data transferred/supposedly uploaded to the SBE (the IDEA software component used to extract & transfer data from the locals to the IL SBE) & the VISTA portion of the System, well, all I’m hearing is rumors that it’s got “issues” (whatever those may be).
This has the potential to get very, very ugly for the next federal election. And based upon what I’m hearing, there’s NO practical “Plan B” out there.
Anyway, do with this what you will….
