Opening Day in 24 hours !
Terrance Mann: The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game — it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.
Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.

Somewhere right now, a member of the House GOP is preparing to be outraged and indignant about something today.

The idea that a victim’s parents are the sole members of our society to determine whether or not a person who is caught grooming minors should see criminal prosecution seems like a weak point in our criminal justice system. Police had evidence. Did they show that evidence to a prosecutor?
The kind of discretion shown by authorities in this case really causes a lot of pause, especially when the person this discretion benefits is pursing public office and has received the fanciest of endorsements. I don’t think that’s an explanation we should just accept on it’s face.
“We have evidence of a crime but decided not to do anything because the parents were okay with their minor daughter being groomed” doesn’t really sound like a statement that is in the public’s best interest, or in the best interest of the victim.

Somewhere right now. . .
Probably true. Thanks for my morning chuckle.

You’d be permanently on pause if you were local to this area, and saw how many times exactly this has happened before.
It took an outsider who went viral to finally arrest one of the other long-known about local offenders. For years prior the local prosecutor ignored any presented evidence of the situation coming directly to his office from multiple people.

Besides the masks today was the first COVID day the train looked and felt ‘normal’ (other factors come into play like we make more stops on the way in, I am sitting closer to the front of the train) so the numbers are not really ‘normal’ but it kind of felt like it today.

===It says a lot about you and your party===
The Millers were in DC during an insurrection, including a rally before it began.

This tribal discussion is the reason compromise can’t overcome manufactured anger.

On Michigan Avenue in Chicago a high-end store added canine patrol for loss prevention. A gun-detection dog and handler caught a thief with a gun and stolen items. Fido at work.
If canine patrols are needed to stop looting and stealing all over the city, more is better.
BTW, the criminal was on electronic monitoring at the time of this latest apprehension.

I normally ignore these, but I was bored last night so I clicked on a link from a text message asking me to participate in a “Illinois Gubernatorial Poll.” It turned out to be from the Irvin campaign and was asking me to rate three potential political ads. I felt, and told them, that all three seemed misleading, but the one that really made me laugh was one where Irvin took on Madigan and sternly looked at the camera and proclaimed that as governor, he would never pardon Michael Madigan. Yeah, a state governor can pardon someone facing a federal indictment the same way a mayor can call out the national guard./s

To: Rudy’s Teeth, and the security K9 team catching someone with a gun. Did Kim Foxx already have the felon released on an 2nd I-bond (sign promising to show up in court) and a double ankle bracelet? (sarcasm at Foxx, not you Rudy).

Lincoln College will be closing its doors in May, after 150+ years of being open. They massive enrollment declines plus a December 2021 cyberattack as the reasons why.

Chicago was much safer when Carmine and Anthony had a presence in the city.

One time in Nashville I was at a Pizza Hut and they had an armed guard with two handguns, all it did was make me wonder why I was at that Pizza Hut.
