Patiently waiting for the IL Supreme Court to come out with its ruling on Holm v Kodat.
It’s the one that will decide if streams are public or private property.
There have been some moves made by some local government agencies that hint they may already know the decision before it has been made public. Either that or they are making some terribly inappropriate decisions that are dependent on the outcome, without knowing the outcome. Both options are equally likely around here.

Recently voted early, for the first time, at the courthouse. Voted by mail in the past and on election day hundreds of times.
Voting early, for me, the only way to go.

What is on my mind is whether someone in the gov’s office is paying any attention to this possibility of blackouts this summer. This environment is bad enough for dems with the high gas prices and inflation, but not being able to keep the lights (and the AC) on will be inexcusable for a lot of voters. JB doesn’t have any control over it, but he’s got to at least look like he’s doing something to address the problem.

Elvis…..you should not vote ‘hundreds of times’ on Election Day. It’s not nice, and in some places its considered illegal.

I believe I viewed the most despicable campaign ad this morning on WMAQ-the voice over by the candidate was horrible, not to mention the numerous photos of bloody infants-isn’t there some rule about graphic content warnings?

I got a mailer against Zalewski and I’m pretty sure he’s not my statehouse rep. We are using the new maps now?

@TheInvisibleMan — That is an interesting proposition. In my case, I live in rural West Central IL. I bought 3 acres of land, upon which three underground tile systems emerge from under the road, and thereby create the “headwater” of a creek. The creek then runs around the perimeter of my property line, with me owning the land of either side of the creek.
What are your thoughts on the potential outcome? Would it suggest I must allow access to the creek, and that I do not actually own some amount of buffer land between the creek and my property?
Just curious, not anxious.

Flyin’ Elvis’ - You’ll discover -as I did and as Jack Leyhane pointed out on his legal blog For What It’s Worth - early voting doesn’t stop the commercials. You still have to be quick on the TV mute botton.

Cermak, the June 28th election is based on the boundaries that will take effect next year. This means you’ve likely been redistricted so check your latest card.

Sayitaintso - Elvis is just voting the “Chicago way”, as in early, often, and dead. /s

Yes I have been redistricted. It’s odd that whoever was sending the anti-Zalewski mailers did not know that the address to which they were sending them was not in the district anymore.

Cook County continues its election efficiency by mailing me yet another voter registration card. The newest is apparently customized to the races on my ballot, but why couldn’t do just one mailing when they knew what my races were months ago?? Another is that part of the mailing the card is on has a list of offices/districts for my election, and they left off the sanitary district, but they left the library district off one registration card, not both, even though we have no library board election this time.

Invisible, the Water Use Act of 1983 primarily addresses groundwater disputes, but I don’t see why its “reasonable use” standard wouldn’t generally apply to surface water as well.
