Bailey wearing traditional Indian denim to celebrate 75 years of independence. Said his choice of pants was “taken out of context.”

Great to see folks from both parties putting politics aside for a cultural celebration. This was a big year as it marked 75 years of India’s Independence.

Ideally, the parents of the bride and groom should meet before the wedding. Otherwise, the pictures can come out a little awkward.

Naperville, IL - Politicians from both parties gathered Sunday to celebrate India’s independence, but one came more prepared than the others. Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia), nominee for Governor and noted scholar, delivered the keynote history lecture. Originally scheduled for 90 minutes, Bailey held the rapt attention of the crowd for well over three hours. Leaders in the Indian community said they had never seen a white politician hold forth so masterfully on the history of the subcontinent.
Bailey began with a brief overview of pre-colonial India, touching on its governmental structure, foreign relations, and cultural development. He apologized profusely for not spending more time on the subject, but did indulge the crowd with a brief tangent on his love for Chaturanga, the Indian game that eventually developed into modern chess.
Bailey then jumped into the meat of the lesson, a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between
Jawaharal Nehru, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and Lord Mountbatten. Bailey, a true polymath, examined the interplay of the three historical leaders through the lenses of academic history, international relations, and mathematical game theory. The crowd was in awe of the Xenia farmer’s ability to toggle seamlessly between different academic disciplines. His upcoming monograph on the subject will be a must-read for both scholars and current political leaders.
Bailey concluded his marathon disquisition with the solemn promise to never disrespect the history or religion of any Illinoisan. The crowd’s resulting applause became thunderous when Bailey declared that, if elected Governor, he will personally develop a state-level history curriculum based on his lifetime of research.

So much marching for Candidate Bailey. Darren and his Missus at the Bud Billiken parade in the hellhole of Chicago. Surprised Bailey would show his face after his disparaging remarks about the city. Then spotted Bob Fioretti at Bailey’s gathering in Chicago. What?
On to Naperville to celebrate India’s independence. Did Candidate Bailey borrow JB’s jeans as those pants look mighty familiar.
