In southern Illinois we’ve had two ice storms, historic flooding and these earthquakes since February, which was the start of Spring Training. So it’s obvious. God is telling us that indeed this year, the 100th anniversary of the Cubs last World Series Championship, that the Northsiders will win it all this year as the world comes to a slow end throughout the season.

Just sayin’.

A strong signal that we need a massive “shake-up” — more women needed in leadership positions to get over the “ego” issues.

Rich,
The quake was not centered in Alan Keyes’ apartment in Cal City.

If you want to adopt California-style citizen-referendum government, you have to take California-style tectonics. Either way, you’re on shaky ground.

“In your snarkiest opinion, what is the Allmighty trying to tell Illinois with these events?”
The “Allmighty” isn’t trying to tell Illinois anything.
Earth tremors are caused by the slipping of tectonic plates deep beneath the earths surface. Although science cannot accurately predict earth quakes, geologists can explain such events without resorting to ancient myths and paranormal explanations.
Note: You called for snark!

While the city fell down around him jogging today from a freak 8.0 earthquake in Chicago, the Governor pointed out it was indeed a sign from God that God approves of Rod Blagojevich by making him “All Shook Up” an obvious Elvis reference.

Illinois’ chickens…..coming home to roost.
seriously, though, read some of the first person accounts of the quakes of 1811-1812. you can find the stories online. it was not just one big one that rearranged the Mississippi, it was months of scary, that reached across the US. if that happened now, there would be panic.

The overbearing ever increasing pressure caused by the continuing FY07 session is believed to be the cause of the 5.2 earthquake. Further, adding to that the ever increasing pessimism pressure re the FY 08 session is likely to bring an unheard of 10.4 quake. Be sceared . . very sceared.
